Austrian Director Peter Tscherkassky has worked in film since the early 1980s and "Coming Attractions" is one of his most recent works. This 5-year-old short films runs for 25 minutes and basically tells us what the filmmaker's body of work would look like if he had been born 100 years earlier, namely in the 19th century. This is basically a collection of very short black-and-white films that look like they are from around 1894. This was probably also Tscherkassky's intention. Also the titles he gave these very short films sound like they come from the end of the 19th century. But this is basically all there is to this work. It's pretty creative, but not very tempting to watch. This is also why I cannot give a recommendation here. In any case, if you are interested in these, you could just go for the original. I mean the real short films from around 1900. So unless, you have seen all of these, which I highly doubt, those would be a superior choice to this copycat movie.
