How sad is this?
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Nammora mandara hoove was something fresh that arrived in Kannada industry in late 90's. Shivrajkumar comes to Ramesh's (his close friend), home town and falls for the girl(prema) whom Rameshloves. The story is predictable but the difference the director makes is in capturing the beauty of unaccessible forests of YANA. The story also shows the yakshagana, cultural dance of Karnataka, as one of the important backdrop. The film was shot without a screenplay and to shoot in YANA, they had to employ a helicopter.the film also has very funny moments with Kashi & the old grandmother. the juxtaposition of the behavior of the elephant and the humans has been very craftily utilizer for the movie. the film may seem very slow now, but in its release time it did wonders and the producers started to concentrate much on stories rather than stars.
