When a big storm destroys Milo's Snack Shack, he doesn't know what to do and that includes just talking to God about it. Milo thinks he has to get God's attention in order for God to hear him. Milo finally learns to pray and realizes that God has been helping him all along. Then ironically sees that all the things he was using to get God's attention are the very things he needs to rebuild his Snack Shack. The garden learns an important lesson about how to trust God after we pray and that God's answers come in many different forms.
Reviews
Great Film overall
As Good As It Gets
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
************************This contains spoilers************************I'm biased. My daughter has been watching this since she was a baby and she adores it. She grew up with it. When she wants to be comforted she watches it again and laughs. We've laugh together. She's taken the messages put forth in the cartoon and applied them to her life, at home, on the playground, in school. She references the cartoon. It has had a very large impact in her young life. The animation is excellent, writing top notch and the production is imaginative and not lazy in the least. The end credits are even funny. The music is wonderful and very catchy. The references to pop culture is cute. Kids probably won't notice. Milo the "Praying" Mantis is voiced by Richard Kind and he does a great job. His role of the clueless preying mantis is a fun one and he does an excellent job of making Milo seem like a willing but lovable incompetent. The animated dance Milo does while the (in our house) iconic song is playing is hilarious. The song is very catchy and I've sang it to my daughter countless times. There's a lot of great messages in this short cartoon. SPOILER ALERT . . . . . . . . .Milo eventually learns that God always answers prayers. His answer may be "yes", "no" or "later". Milo eventually learns to pray and finds that everything happens for a reason.
