Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
BULLETT RAJA is no exception. It's raw, unrefined and harsh, much like Tigmanshu's earlier endeavors. Notwithstanding the oft-repeated premise, the screenplay has ample twists and turns and leaves you wondering, what's gonna happen next? The icing on the cake is the twist towards the penultimate moments. It is zany and funny, an Uttar Pradesh take on Sholay's Jai and Veeru. BR scores with its tight performances, Saif terrific with his clenched-jaw comedy, Shergill intense and growlingly funny, Jamwal's flying kicks and wavy hair making the landscape even hotter. Still, BR is a racy ride, cynical, yet sweet, dark, yet bright. Guns, girls, grime and glory come together in a layered tale of corruption, politics and kinetic camaraderie. The songs brakes the pace. But then you really can't have a formula film without the song breaks. It takes a politically savvy storyteller of Dhulia's skills to convert the lowest ebb of our politics into an occasion of high drama.
finally after a while came across a story and movie worth watching... it captures you from very start.. there is one thing.. when story and direction is good.. acting shines too on its own... Saif and Sonakshi are good of course... Jimmi too suits in serious roles a lot may b coz he got lesser expressions than others but that is a benefit in particular roles.. entry of Sonakshi was scripted in unique manner.. well they could have shown politics little more dirty and some more twists.. but still was very good movie.. **** would have given 5th is there was a song I liked a lot.. but ain't there so.. and this is 10th line which was necessary for 10 line review else I couldn't submit a review... lol ..
Excellent Movie... Very Entertaining. Saif is awesome!Brain Alert!: Don't think too much, just sit back, enjoy the popcorn and so the movie! This movie is strictly NOT for people looking for an intelligent (brain stressing, inception type) film!I will not go into story telling mode as the plot is already so thin, but the movie is set up well in the first half (The motive!) and so all hell breaks loose in the second half. The film didn't need a lady.. S.Sinha is completely wasted, misfit and wasn't needed. I would recommend people to fast-forward (if watching on DVD) or sleep (if in cinema) all of her scenes and you wont miss a thing!Jimmy was first class as usual. Very under-rated actor and someone makes wrong decisions! Gulsen is natural! The movie belongs completely to Saif. Amazing performance!!Item watch!: A good item number (Mahi Gill)!
Before going for Bullet Raja you think of movies like Haasil and Paan Singh Tomar (Two of Dir Tingmanshu Dhulia's brilliant films), but just 5 minutes into the film I knew this is some kind of a joke. Basically there's no plot, just random twists and meaningless action. Some scenes are so random that it'll make you think that the last scene before this is from the same movie ? Saif-Ali Khan tries really hard to look rough and tough but fails miserably, Sonakshi Sinha's character lacks depth, Jimmy Shergil is wasted just like Vidut Jamwal is. Screenplay is more of a joke, there are some emotional scenes in which you'll burst out laughing. Songs are pathetic and appear in all the wrong situations. Dialogues are as old as hills. My opinion: Rather go out drinking than watching this trash!
