Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
How sad is this?
It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Truly terrible. Awful. There is not one aspect of this film that could possibly be interpreted or perceived as impressive or entertaining. Plot is mindless. The first half of the film is so incredibly boring and the second half of the film is impossibly stupid. Simply makes no sense whatsoever. You're forced to endure 30 minutes of screen bending and inverted shots of various cityscapes just waiting for it to end. So disjointed and haphazard. Movie goes into a complete meltdown towards the end when the worlds we're supposed to be watching collapse and then it's just scene after scene, random sequence after random sequence of this guy hitting into walls and trying to break free from the screen. Utterly ridiculous. Tells no story; provides no useful takeaways; nothing insightful or interesting. Just absolutely nothing - complete waste of time. Everyone involved or connected to this title should be embarrassed and ashamed for releasing this into the world. Catastrophic filmmaking - should be banned.
"The frame" tells the story of two strangers who, out of a sudden, notice that they are able to communicate through their television with each other and soon start to realize that the world they live in could be only a version of reality with them as the stars of their own respective tv shows. The movie is very intellectual, sometimes in a good, sometimes in a very posh kind of way. I like the stories of the two characters that are both well acted and in a way I also like the mystery element surrounding their contact. However, as time goes by, rather than providing some plausibility, the film turns more and more artsy and ends with something that looks a bit like a forcedly sophisticated version of Austrian film "Die Mauer". It reflects on the role of the author towards his work but isn't always stringent in its conclusions. All in all this film shows a lot of potential and convinces through a good cast and the skill to make its audience curious. Unfortunately, it tries a bit too hard to be intellectual and misses to build up a plausible plot on the way.
I truly enjoyed the creativity of this movie. It was a pleasure to watch. If you're wondering whether to watch this movie, I would lump it into a more creative, slightly less Hollywood-esque version of other enjoyable mind-bender type movies, like Vanilla Sky, Burn After Reading, The Usual Suspects, etc. I recommend it. Don't over-analyze the sci fi bits too much, just enjoy the ride. It's riveting from the first minute. It does drag a bit at the end, but I didn't mind as there was a lot of depth to what the main character was going through and I enjoyed the journey. The dialogue was refreshingly smart, and, on a side note, the lighting was particularly good. Thanks for this film. It was refreshing, creative and kept me guessing and curious right 'til the end.
I was not expecting much.. just came across this by chance, and a couple hours later my body and mind are still trembling with the power and depth of this trip through the surreal. emotional, and visually stimulating, complete fantasy yet somehow touches a very real sense of ones being, and longing for redemption.. fulfillment..a search for completeness.watching, feeling this movie was a profound experience for me, but I will not be surprised that it is not for everyone, or even anyone not prepared..open and patient, for it's magic to take you out of this world.
