Excellent but underrated film
Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film,like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
I've been loosely associated with the video game world for many years and have always paid a bit of attention to the rise of eSports as a major form of competitive entertainment. There are YouTube channels with millions of followers whose subscribers spend hours and hours watching these competitive gamers play. Rise of the eSports hero is the most accurate portrayal of this world that I've ever seen. If you have any interest in the world of professional gaming, the rising salaries these pro gamers make, and the surprising amount of politics and competitiveness that comes with it, this documentary takes you inside arguably the best professional gaming team in the world. I should also mention that the production value of this documentary is top-notch.
