Trailer Synopsis Cast

Documentary film investigating allegations of election fraud during the 2004 U.S. presidential election. Electronic voting machines count approximately 90% of America's votes in county, state and federal elections. The technology is also increasingly being used across the world, including in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America. The film uncovers incendiary evidence from the trash cans of Texas to the ballot boxes of Ohio, exposing secrecy, votes in the trash, hackable software and election officials rigging the presidential recount.Ultimately proving our votes can be stolen without a trace "Hacking Democracy" culminates in the famous 'Hursti Hack'; a duel between the Diebold voting machines and a computer hacker from Finland - with America's democracy at stake.

9to5: The Story of a Movement
9to5: The Story of a Movement
In the early 1970s, a group of secretaries in Boston decided that they had suffered in silence long enough. They started fighting back, creating a movement to force changes in their workplaces. This movement became national, and is a largely forgotten story of U.S. twentieth century history. It encapsulates a unique intersection of the women’s movement with the labor movement. The awareness these secretaries brought to bear on women’s work reverberates even today. Clericals were the low-wage workers of their era. America now confronts the growing reality of deep income inequality. The stories and strategies of these bold, creative women resonates in contemporary America.

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Even though no one from Diebold Election Systems admitted to having seen the film, Diebold President David Byrd suggested that Hacking Democracy was "replete with material examples of inaccurate reporting", and demanded that it not be aired. His criticism was based on an earlier film made by the same three filmmakers. However, HBO refused to remove it from their schedules. In addition Diebold wrote a letter to HBO referring to the famous vote changing 'Hursti Hack' featured in the film, claiming that "Harri Hursti is shown attacking a Diebold machine in Florida. But his attack proved later to be a complete sham." This statement by Diebold was proved to be wholly wrong by independent computer scientists at UC Berkeley who investigated the Hursti Hack.

Commander Coconut stated in yesterday's Orlando Sentinel: "Have you seen the documentary Hacking Democracy? Truly frightening, scarier than a Wes Craven movie." Well, as a horror film lover, I was certainly interested, and I have to admit that I was scared shitless. Craven can definitely take tips from Simon Ardizzone and Russell Michaels on how to make a horror movie. No, there was no blood or special effects, just a simple test of the voting system here in this country and the results that show we cannot be sure that our votes are truly counted. If that doesn't scare the pants off you, then realize that this system is controlled by Republicans, and you can see that our country is truly headed down the toilet. If you care about American democracy, or what is left of it, then you really need to see this documentary.

This movie is one of the most important movies of our times, and for generations to come. This movie exposes, and explains, what actually happened during the past two presidential elections. This movie should be required viewing for every civics class in every democratic country, especially the United States. One of the most disarming parts of the movie is the woman who leads the charge in exposing what can only be described as criminal fraud in an election. She does not look at all like a typical protester, actor, filmmaker, muckraker or investigator. But after you see what she does to further the cause of truth and democracy, you will agree that she is a heroine in the truest sense of the word. She is my hero.

I am a senior in high school and we watched Hacking Democracy in my government class. It's funny that we have a government class because even though the class is required by state law, the state gives no curriculum or work in our Government class. While i watched this movie i was blown away. What kind of people could over look such a huge glitch in, not only the voting machines, but in the U.S. Government system itself. I am very glad i watched this and everyone should see it. We are writing a reaction paper as an assignment that my teacher made up. Well, it's the most she could think of since she doesn't have any material to teach us. If you want your vote to count...i recommend the viewing of Hacking Democracy.
