Just perfect...

Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

At first I just watched the film in awe, and of course explaining frantically to my wife about the live footage of a dwarf species of human believed to be extinct, on the Island of Flores. After that I thought the movement of the "homo floresiensis" from the alleged footage filmed by the alleged Dr. Timothy Darrow moved unnaturally, so I started investigating. Basically, the whole movie was a hoax, utterly misleading its viewers...all right, fossils and archaeological material of this small human species have been unearthed on the Island of Flores, but from that to this movie it's a looong way. As an artistic movie it was super entertaining, I have to give it 10 stars, nevertheless as a documentary, it is tricking the audience way too much, so I'll give it a 2.

With thousands of undiscovered species and unprecedented access to wildlife, I have no idea why Animal Planet continues to fabricate sensationalized garbage like this. This type of trash is the nature version of The Kardashians. What an extreme disappointment coming from the network that was once a reliable source of programming built around the fascinating natural world. I attend many film festivals and have seen outstanding, unique films about nature but unfortunately, they never get distribution. Hopefully, as Animal Planet abandons quality programming, some enterprising network will recognize the void they left when they departed from intellectual viewers and started catering to the less sophisticated audience.

First I want to say "Cannibal in the Jungle" makes a great movie. But why the confusion? When you watch it, they make it look like a documentary, however, I saw so many red flags in the acting and what they say went on. Who on this planet would have a film in there possession for over 30 years that belonged to her brother that was accused of such a crime and not WATCH it? Come on! He was portrayed as a GOOD guy so come on! Get real! Then at the end you get to read that he died in that prison before anyone would do a damn thing. The whole story made me mad. Yes, makes a good movie but they do purposely make it LOOK real. Why? I love to watch documentaries, always have. Now they are mixing truth with fiction like "Mermaids body of evidence". Animal Planet used to be a great place to watch and LEARN about things, now, you just can't believe anything they put on that channel. O.K. I can't say that. Jeremy Wade is down to earth and shows you the river monsters he catches. I like him! Animal Planet better be thanking their lucky stars they found him! When you watch "River Monsters" you know your not getting lied to. Jeremy looks for the truth! And I respect that. Anyway, just stop trying to fool people, it's not right!

Well my opinion of Animal Planet is pretty low. I want a documentary channel mostly about animals. What I get is a channel full of reality shows about idiots. So a fake documentary - I guess I would expect it. But they don't say it's fake, and say it's 'science' etc. If I could I would take if off my lineup. Nothing about this is real, except some reality about a species discovered that were nicknamed hobbits (though even that is controversial on many levels).My sister was fooled, as was my dad (who was told it was real by my sis). I watched and was not fooled - the interviews were just wrong - too perfect, and they just felt acted. Then old home movies came up and they looked like ones made for MTV - to look old. Also and Indonesian official with an Indian accent (perhaps, but not that likely - and he was too perfect in his dialogue too). Strangely I did not see glaring errors in the science behind some of the show, which usually I catch right away (but I see these in documentaries too). But after I realized it was all fake I think I turned off my scrutiny glasses.
