Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

I was dragged to a screening of this after already being disappointed by the trailer. As the movie dragged on, I was really hoping I would find something I liked, even if it was the humor of just how bad it was.Unfortunately, it never happened. The acting was extremely overdone with forced dialogue trying to mimic that of Hugh's films. There were so many lines that you could just tell were right out of a script. There were various points in the movie that were blatant rip-offs from other movies (but executed poorly ie: Silent Ben). I couldn't relate to any of the characters at all. The actor's delivery on many times fell short and flat with unrealistic scenarios.A major distraction of this film was the terrible audio. In between the difficulty of getting past the shotty performances and ghastly dialogue, the audio was extremely irritating. There's nothing more annoying than poorly executed audio and sound. It really takes away the quality of film. The only positive attributes I condone for this film would be the selection of music, though, repetition of the same song does not highlight an otherwise 'train wreck' of a movie. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I attended a screening of Friends Don't Let Friends Date Friends with low expectations and I walked away liking it even less than I expected to. The script was obviously influenced by the films of John Hughes and Kevin Smith, however there is nothing flattering about this imitation. The script tries much too hard to emulate the aforementioned filmmakers and a great deal of the performances come off as forced because of it. The only positive was that although somewhat repetitive, the music fit well with the story this movie was attempting to tell. Don't waste your time with this one, you're better off watching one of the movies that this film wishes it was again than wasting your time with this hollow imitation.

FDLFD follows Della and her friends as they work their way through small-town romantic entanglements, all of which seem to fly past Della. Created and Directed by Rhonda Parker as a student film it is impossible to say there are no weak spots in the script or the acting, but the overall tone of the film, the fairly unique approach of a making a romantic comedy with no real action sequences lends a warmer feel to the production.Shortcomings can be forgiven easily because the main characters are engaging and the relationships, and the pangs from the relationships, are believable. This does not have the feel of a vanity project. Every once in a while genuine laughs slip in and liven the film up. Comedy is a difficult thing to master, subtle comedy more-so.Extremely small-level indie projects like this that rely on character and require time to play out are a rarity, and should be encouraged.I am impressed with this film and, for the sake of transparency, I am proud to have been one of the fund-raising contributors, albeit on a small scale. I want to see what Rhonda comes up with next.

The story will exceed the expectations of every person ever in love. The emotions of joy to sadness, love to hatred, friendship to a broken heart are clearly depicted within each scene. The director visually captured the emotions felt by several different characters in each scene, giving the ability to honestly sense the storyline. The ability to feel the emotions of the characters is captured through various sights, sounds, and places, just as they would play out in real life. It is very well written, and the directing captures every angle imaginable. I admire the extra steps taken to promote the locality of it's filming area. The larger than life steps taken by all involved, to ensure this film is a success, are commendable. The actors and actresses clearly understand the characters they are playing and their emotions are portrayed as if they've lived it before. I am impressed with how well the film was supported and received by the locals where most of the film was shot. I cannot recommend this movie enough!
