Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I actually watched the movie. As a matter of fact, when it started I thought I would get some things done around the house and watch it in the background but it totally got me. I had to sit and watch. The interplay between the couple and their friends was perfect. I have known people like these, playing a game instead of following their hearts in their relationships. The advice they get just pulls them farther from what they really want and creates way more conflict than ever. The chemistry between Bill and Vivica is hot when they aren't "playing the game". This is a fun, lighthearted film that is great for those times when you need a pick me up and want some sweet, old fashioned, relationship entertainment.

This movie gets 4 stars just for having fly Vivica A. Fox and fly Stacey Dash in it! Fly Tichina Arnold also made a cameo appearance in this movie. This movie was totally pointless and stupid. The only good part of the movie was when Vivica's character bribed the hotel worker and caught the man she was dating with another person...a man. A man who was feminine and hit one of the highest notes a man ever hit in movie history when Vivica's character was about to beat him up. In the end, the girls get played back and Stacey Dash's character ends up with the man everyone wanted to play. Do not rent this movie! Wait until it comes on Saturday afternoon on TV!

I agree with the 1st comment. This movie had potential and there are quite a few things wrong in it that made me give it a bad review. Directing and editing was just the beginning. The writing or storyline went nowhere. Key elements are missing that leave you asking, WHY? Spoilers aheadBig Plot hole. When the woman first start Stacy Dash's character (Emily) tells her therapist that she hired an investigator. Why do we not know of the results of the investigators findings. I actually thought there was going to be more to Bill Bellamy's character (Mark) then shown. Why was Emily seeing a therapist in the first place. Again I expected the therapist and Mark's storyline or something to tie in together. When Vivica's character (Andrea) and Lauren (Played by Carmen Diaz) were seeing the same man learn that they were seeing the same man there was nothing. OK they didn't need to have a cat fight but neither woman went off on the man either. But I will leave it to your opinion, As far as mine this movie blows.

The story starts by an introduction of Andrea Collins (Vivica Fox). This woman is depicted as preppy, shallow and self-obsessed (chliche) Hollywood actress. Despite of that, due to the funny - at times even parodying way of using this character makes this girl somewhat lovable. Later on, Andrea meets two of her friends and they start a twisted challenge : silly competition in seducing (almost) randomly selected stranger. (Suprisingly, no actual prize was at stake)Getting played is a romantic story that won't get you disappointed. The movie is perfectly written (the plot is great for the comedy genre) and acted, the scenes are warm and music well chosen. The part where mark strips was rather unique and unpredictably funny. I loved Stacy Dash here - she was very appealing and no less shining than Vivica Fox or Carmen Electra. Overall this story is a great movie, its smart and original humor suited me very well. Great alternative to senseless teen comedies (about losing virginity), overgrown weed-smoking losers living with their mums and the like. Getting played is no tough art or deep story but simple, well executed romance/fun flick that shouldn't make its audience regret their choice. This movie can easily find decent place on my shelf, since It's very charming, delightful and entertaining piece.
