A brilliant film that helped define a genre
A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
The kind of humour you don't fully appreciate unless your over 40, married and have older kids. In parts I literally couldn't breathe for laughing. Not a lot you can say, it's John Bishop, it's stand up and it's hilarious.
