Too much of everything
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Not a great movie. Maybe if you're a pre-teen, but not for adults. BTW, thanks for instilling in my children that it's okay to be disrespectful and rebellious toward authority figures, basically with no consequences. And please tell me why Rafe put the lighter to the sprinkler system immediately without letting the principal respond to his request. Oh that's right because it made for a colorful silly dance scene, to heck with common sense! Skip this one.... watch the Diary movies again, instead.
Liked the story line and the imagination plot. Was a decent effort, could have been better if the actors gelled into the script. I felt there was a minor gap between the story and a group of talented actors. Alexa Nisenson was exceptional though. Positives: Story-line, Animation, Georgia, Principal Negatives: Predictable towards the end.Rating it 7 as I liked the story-line.
I don't know why such a movie is having such a low rating i see it should be above 7/10 rating. This movie is one of the most creative movies where they beautifully mixing animation with reality also it's discussing some of the real problems with education system.I have read the novel and i may say that this movie is even better than the novel and most of the actors were well casted they didn't make the plot in it very good though obviously for the fans of the novel this movie may have been made way better than that but it's still pretty good.If you are wandering you should watch this movie or not you absolutely should watch it if you are looking for something light and enjoyable also for the sake of the creativity this movie is made with absolutely recommended.
I took my kids to see this yesterday. My daughter is 12 and son is 8. Rafe is a talented, creative junior high school student-though I don't recall if they ever specifically said what grade he was in. He has been kicked out of other schools and he lands at this one. This is his last chance. The school has ridiculous rules and an aloof, dorky principal who seems to take pleasure in enforcing these stupid rules. Well rules were made to be broke and Rafe and his friends refuse to follow them and break them all, leading to hilarious results.Mom has an idiot boyfriend who doesn't realize the kids are getting the last laugh at him.It reminded me of the "Diary of a wimpy kid" movies with the drawings that come to life aspect.Highly recommend as this movie is fun for the whole family.
