Christmas is just around the corner but suburban workaholics Maya Fletcher and her husband Jack are too busy to get into the holiday spirit. As their Christmas to do list grows and deadlines fast approach, holiday spirit is at an all time low. Maya forgets she promised to host a Christmas Eve party for her and Jack’s whole family. In an effort to impress a potential new client, Maya has also invited him to spend the holidays with the family.

Just what I expected
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE FILM. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA. I AM HONEST! This movie follows the Fletcher family, specifically perfume executive Maya (Caroline Rhea) and her equally busy husband Jack (Barclay Hope). Both of them are busy dealing with the stress of their demanding jobs as well as with the effect that a recent move for Maya's career has had on their children. In order to impress both her boss and a potential new client, Maya agrees to host a Christmas party at her new home. This puts extra stress on her especially since both her and Jack's relatives have made plans to spend the holidays at their new house.Jack suggests that Maya hire Owen (David Hasselhoff), a prestigious Christmas consultant, to plan the party in her stead. Despite some initial hesitations, the Fletchers hire Owen, who states that he will work every day except for Christmas Day, which he will spend with his family. The film has nice joyful quality about it. It is a typical "Holiday Christmas Movie" but it has enough genuine laughs that helps make this film stand out. Worth watching. Family Safe
I'm sorry David Hasselhoff cannot sing & he can NOT act! This is possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. To be fair Hasselhoff was not the only one bad acting. The script was bad & the acting was bad & totally the wrong actors playing the parts. Epic fail! For any Christmas movie I watch I have high expectations but this movie didn't make me want Christmas at all. If I remember right (it's been a long time since I watched it)Hasselhoff was a pretty good actor back in the Knight Rider days. he now needs to retire. Caroline Rhea I usually like but she bombed badly here. Come on Lifetime, you can do much better than this.
I really enjoyed this, yes, it does have ups and downs--sometimes it seems that all is not going well but that is part of the fun! It reminds me a bit of "The Ref"---could some of the same people be involved {behind the scenes}? It concerns a modern, up to date family, who feel that they would like to get more out of their Christmas celebration with a little less work, but they are very short of free time.I hope to get a copy of it so I an play it whenever I want to! I think it is a lot of fun but be sure to watch it all the way to the end,I think you who commented that you found it "depressing" quit too soon.I am eager to see it again, and am recommending it to all my friends. Please give it a try!
Tepid Christmas tale is abhorrently unfunny, terribly corny, and should have never been made. Whoever approved this script should be washing cars for a living instead of writing screenplays. There's the dysfunctional family, the unrealistic plot, and the desire to make Christmas BETTER by having everyone screw up, act stupid, and hate each other...until the end that is. At first, I thought this was a Hallmark movie, but even they wouldn't go this far with one of their movies. Look, taste is subjective. I'm sure some people will like this movie. That's fine. THEY can watch it... I'll stick to the classics. Hey, I don't even like A Christmas Story, with "Ralphie" and his BB Gun, but understand how people could like THAT; it does have some cute elements, but this...this is Ho, Ho, Horrible!
