Perfect cast and a good story
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
This French animated short stars a baribusa--a strange poly-tusked cousin of the pig. This baribusa lives on an island not much bigger than the animal and soon you see lots of weird stuff. The island becoming a boat and all the other things that occur in the film are indeed odd and hard to describe--believe me.I think the score of 4.8 is a bit too low for this cute animated short. Sure, the animation quality is not great and consists of very simple black and white line drawings with no shading or color--plus they didn't bother to erase the pencil marks, but considering that it is funny and quite watchable it should be rated a bit higher. I think that in addition to the artwork putting off some, the bizarre and often surreal narrative of the short also causes some to dislike it. My suggestion is that you watch it and don't think too much--just accept it for what it is--very cute and clever.
