Trailer Synopsis Cast

Geeky school kid Andy dreams of being a great inventor, but he’s having trouble coming up with a “big idea” that will win the Science Fair and beat scheming twins April and May. Even worse his Dad is pressuring him into joining the football team, that he just happens to coach and his big brother just happens to be the star of. Andy decides to ask the town’s resident scientist, Dr. Frankenstein, for advice, but on a visit to his creepy mansion instead he meets a green football-loving teenage monster named Frank, who wishes he could join in the way Andy can. This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

A young inventor named Andy, reaches out to his neighbor Doctor Frankenstein to help him win the upcoming science fair. But, finding the Doctor not to be at home, he meets the next best thing, Frankenstein s monster; who turns out to be a teenager like himself. While Frankenstein takes Andy s place on the football team, Andy uses Frankenstein s knowledge and lab to find an invention for the fair. But when he inadvertently creates a monster of his own, they must work together to save the town and Halloween! The Bottom LineQuirky and fun, if you're trying to get into the spirit of Halloween, this animated story will set you on the right path. It's a new spin on an old OLD idea ( Frankenstein has been around for ages). Mixing Frankenstein with a mistaken identity/Parent Trap plot line is fresh take on the crazy inventor and his monster story. The animation is done in a similar style to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs , so it's got some fantastic character design - the only place it really fall short is on some of the jokes and dialogue, which can be a little cheesy and cliché at times (but hey, that's sort of what Halloween is about right?) If you're planning a freaky Friday movie night, A Monstrous Holiday is a good place to start (hopefully followed by Frankenweenie or Hotel Transylvania, two great movies in the same genre.)
