When livestock falls prey to a wild dog, local farmhands mistakenly accuse a mother cougar and her cubs of hunting their heard. It's up to Lassie and her owner, Forest Ranger Corey Stuart, to identify the real culprit and keep the young cougar family out harm's way.

Strong and Moving!
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
I got this movie first on VHS, when i was around 10 years old, it is a made for television movie, from 1967, and i think they did a fine job with the actors for a TV movie.I thought it was a great movie starring Lassie. Now 22 years later i still think it is a good family movie, it is filmed on nice locations, has a good story, where Lassie has to take care of a wounded Cougar. I think it is one of the better Lassie movie around, but not to many know about it. And that is a shame, because it is a very good movie. Do yourself a favor and look it up, it is released on DVD both in Europa and us. I will give it 8 of of 10.
