David, Javier, Dani and Pepe are four friends expelled from a religious school who must join the discipline of a mixed center. His passion for music leads them to create the group Los Residuos, facing Rocky Lacoste, the idol of the new school. In addition to singing in the rival group Yellow Fever, Lacoste also conquers Patty, David's girlfriend. At the end of his irregular career, Manuel Summers directed this musical taking advantage of the enormous success among the youthful public of the group of pop Men G, led by his son David.

It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
The movie had a good plot; it's basically a story about how the band was formed and how the lead singer deals with his love life and does what he can to have a good time. Some parts don't make sense and aren't clear but that's the magic of movies combined withe 80's.It is a great film but it is not meant for everyone. Even if you understand Spanish the movie is in Spain which can make it a little more difficult to comprehend. It doesn't seem to get rated high here but i saw it anyways and i don't regret it. If you plan on watching with subtitles then it'll just take away the literal meanings and in return probably give the movie a more mediocre feeling.
This film is not a masterpiece because of its nature. But it's just the perfect pic collection from the 80s in Spain. All that you'll see in this movie it's just like happened along this happy decade. And , actually , the name of the girlfriend is Pati. Take it easy , relax , and enjoy a naive light comedy.
This is one of the worst Manuel Summers films, a title that it was made for his son, David Summers and the Hombres G. It is very difficult to make a great movie without good actors, but it is impossible make a movie without any actor. The plot is absolutely ridiculous, without a logical sense. For example, the love affair between David Summers and his girlfriend, Marta, or the boxing scenes in the concert... I don't recommend this film to anyone...
Sufre Mamón was made at the peak of the Hombres G career (Hombres G being the famous Spanish rock/pop band that got really famous throughout Spain and Latin America in the 80's, and are still quite famous today by the way).It is a movie about how the band got together but also about probably their most famous song: "Devuélveme a mi Chica" ("Give me Back my Girl"), obviously about how David's (lead singer) girl was stolen from him by a snobby arrogant guy that also sings for another band which is the nemesis-band of Hombres G in the movie. David, backed up by his bandmates, will do anything to get her back and take revenge on his enemy. It's a movie made basically for Hombres G fans, although anyone else who isn't familiar with the band would get some good laughs from it as well.It may not be a big production or cinematographically perfect, but it is entertaining and fun, specially if you like Hombres G. A good Spanish 80's Comedy.Daniel Dávalos
