To me, this movie is perfection.
Admirable film.
Absolutely the worst movie.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
"Bre(a)k!" is a Soviet 10-minute movie from 1985, so this one is also already over 30 years old. The writer and director is the very successful Garri Bardin, who was in his early 40s when he made this one and already a prolific filmmaker. But I cannot share the praise sadly. If you know Bardin, you also know that this is animation, claymation int his very case. It is basically all about a boxing fight and the referee and a bunch of trainers and spectators play a big role too. I personally am not the greatest claymation fan, but I must say this was not the biggest problem here. The biggest problem is that the story simply was not interesting at all and from this perspective 4 stars out of 10 is still fairly generous. I think this is only worth seeing for people who love boxing as well as claymation. Everybody else better skip it or they will probably be as underwhelmed as I was. Not recommended.
