I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Absolutely brilliant
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
"The Short Story of a Fox and a Mouse" is an award-winning 6-minute animated short film from 2015 and as you may have guessed from the title already, this is not an American or English production, but this one is from France. Don't worry though because you will hear no dialogues and the audio consists entirely of sound effects and soundtrack. The film's best component is certainly the visual side. It looks pretty nicely and that includes the snowy landscapes as well as the characters in here, especially the fox. Unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I can say really. Story-wise it started okay, but the moment the action approached the lake, it all got south really quickly. In the sense of it got pseudo-dramatic, unrealistically feel-good material until the closing credits rolled in and this is definitely a negative deal-breaker here. The second half was really way too weak for me to give this one a positive recommendation. I sure don't expect an animated animal / wildlife documentary, but I expect certainly more authenticity than we got here. Most shockingly, I see how many directors worked on this one and it still became so underwhelming. Making the Oscars short list recently was definitely an overachievement for this little film. It's really only for small children if at all and this is simply not enough looking at the great level animation is these days, the best it may have been since the Golden Age of animation. In short: Don't watch.
realistic animation.impeccable made drawings. dramatic and sweet and delicate. not plausible story. but so beautiful, than you ignore the correct possibility.it is one of short films who has the status of soup for soul. lovely eulogy for friendship, it is almost magic. and it is so well made than you feel the air, the snow and the water. because it is a simple, beauty, seductive and impressive film. using only few basic elements. a run. a refuge. new danger. the help. and something who reminds the state of a child in front with the open window in a snowy morning before Christmas. so, the perfect review could be - must see it ! that is all.
