Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.

A supposedly intelligent guy has charge of two gold rings -- family heirlooms from generations back. Well, he's up in an open second story porch, next to the railing, flipping one of them like a coin. Gee, I wonder what's going to happen next. But no, he couldn't lose the second one, too. Could he? I mean, could he? This was like bad community theater. It's impossible to give spoiler alerts for this movie, because you know within the first five minutes exactly what will happen and exactly how. Overly broad characters, a ridiculously frenetic script, every cliché in the book, junior high-level sight gags, goofy geezers, and caricatured parents don't exactly set you on the edge of your seat with anticipation for the next surprise, because there aren't any. Except, possibly, that this trite little romp was nominated for a few awards in its home country of Argentina. Their film industry must be something short of "fledgling" to have received such accolades.I'm giving it a 2 because at least it was good-hearted. But good-hearted doth not a good movie make. Don't waste your time. "My First Wedding" is truly dreadful.

They say the wedding is a day and the marriage is a life time. When these two love birds Adriá (Daniel Herndler) and his bride Leonora (Natalia Oreiro) come together they have more than a spark, the create fire. A mix couple, he is Jewish, she is Catholic, they decide to stay true to their own tradition and make them their own by having both a priest and rabbi. The scenery is picture perfect as they use a large estate for the backdrop. Families descend on the grounds to witness the grand event. Then the all of a sudden the presides are late. What to do? Hold and stall the guest and this leads to a magnifying of the wedding day jitters. A former lover, a potential new, eccentric family members, and the universal question of happily ever after shines on to the cracks of these lovers true love for each other and if they are really meant to be. This film is full of innovative twist and turns and is in Spanish with English subtitles. The Director is Ariel Winograd and hails from Argentina, this movie was nominated for four Argentina Academy Awards and a national hit. I saw this film at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.

Movie 'Mi Primera Boda' is very beautifully crafted Argentine comedy about young couple facing series of troubles prior to their wedding ceremony that might eventually lead to disaster. This movie has most importantly well and detailed written script, which leads spectators into lives of main characters, yet does not bore us with inadequate information. Actress Natalia Oreiro has never looked better and is very convincing in her role of bride-to-be Leonora, who is as charming and lovely as she is perfectionist and controlling. Daniel Hendler delivers superb performance of clumsy groom-to-be Adrián, who might destroy happiness of the couple. Supporting cast is composed of top Argentine actors and they all have time to shine in this comedic story. Movie's director Ariel Winograd based this story on his own wedding experience and he couldn't have done better job transforming his ideas on silver screen. I would strongly recommend this movie to all people who like intelligent comedies with touch of irony and romantic sentiment.

I don't know what people laughed about in "Mi primera boda". The conflict is so weak that you are wondering all the time "why didn't the main character (Hendler) did this or that", because everything he does is completely unrealistic and senseless. The score is not in its right place. Some scenes have a "musical exaggeration". For example, Hendler is riding a horse and if you hear the music without the images you would think you are watching a Indiana Jones film. I don't know why, but this repeats until the end, and it's not funny. The characters: I hate them all. Even Hendler and Oreiro, whom I admire very much . The movie introduces a lot of people, but we know very little about them at the end, except for three or four.Well, You can clearly notice a "Death at the funeral" reference in this movie. But you don't see explanations in "Death at the funeral". What was that? Hendler and Oreiro, explaining the movie for you?, like if you had some kind of understanding problem or something. In one scene, Oreiro suddenly looks at the camera and talks, breaking all the climax. I felt I was watching a bad "The office" episode. I think you can tell this story without all that stuff.Locations, photography and sound are perfect but the developing of the conflict is too lame. I didn't like it. 3/10
