Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
I'll make this short. Andrew "dice" Clay was fun to watch, and Angie Everhart is always a welcome addition. Also seeing Sebastian Bach was a cool surprise in a relatively small role. Some of the other actors did better then expected for a movie of this type as well. The movie as a whole however was not very good. A so-so script which may have been better if the budget and production value were much higher. I presume all the budget went to the actors as there were a number of known names and faces if no A-list stars. I could recommend renting this movie is if some of the actors are personal favorites. That's why I did, but if your looking for a good, fun, action movie there are many better to choose from. I rate it 5 out of 10 based on the appeal of some of the actors. Otherwise I would've felt like I wasted my time.
I rented it at Blockbuster in hope of seeing Angie does some "good" act. Unfortunately, the video is totally different from what the image has conveyed by the backside of the box. It contains neither nudity nor sex. Plot is lame and uninteresting. Don't bother and save yourself a few bucks!
With an all star cast including Angie Everhart, Richard Greico, Andrew Dice Clay, and Sebastian Bach, how could this movie not be terrible? Well if it had a semi-coherent plot, decent attempts at acting by all the actors, decent characters, one or two gun fights that didn't look like little kids playing cowboys and indians... Any of those would have been enough. Alas, none of those things happened in this movie.Angie plays an epileptic, who also must be mentally retarded (the character not the model). Greico plays the world's only non-sleazy talent agent, alright Greico is inherently sleazy, but the character is supposed to not be (suspend disbelief alright!). Clay runs a nudie bar, and is well... Clay. Oh and Sebastian Bach and his hair play a tough. Alright so it is Sebastian Bach trying to play a guy who tries to play tough.Overall? 1/10 which is the least I am allowed to give!
Point Doom had the potential of being a pretty good movie. It had a great cast: Richard Grieco, Andrew "Dice" Clay, Angie Everhart, Ice T, Zach Galligan, Jennifer O Dell. Great action. Stylish direction. Cool cinematography but it had no real script. The actor's did a phenomenal job with what they were given. But there are times in the movie when you get the feeling that they were making it up as they went along. It's unfortunate that the script was so lacking in substance and plot. A real screenwriter could've turned this average action thriller into a really good film. Never-the-less it is still worth watching.
