A secret cabal, The Shadow, works to bring about the return of Goth Azul - the Undead God - in the rich world of SAGA, populated by elves, orcs, dwarves and dragons. A ruthless elven bounty huntress (Nemyt) shoots down the dragon ridden by the fugitive orc shaman, Fangtor Bloodmoon. When Fangtor refuses to surrender quietly, the huntress must battle for her own life against the dangerous villain, and comes away with more than just his head.

Highly Overrated But Still Good
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Nemyt Akaia (Danielle Chuchran) is a fiery elf who is a bounty hunter. She kills an orc and gets cursed. Keltus (Richard McWilliams) is a human wanderer because ranger has been already taken in LOTR. Nemyt has a strong natural resistance to the curse. This allows her to travel among the orcs and fallen elves. In addition to attempting to get the curse removed, it seems the whole world is about to come to an end with the release of the Shadow Lord or "he who which we don't speak." There are also dwarfs in this film who swap their allegiance to the orcs.Yes, if you haven't figured it out, they did some wholesale stealing from LOTR including a night rider and several scenes that didn't involve more than 10 people. While the story boasts a shadow curse, it was a little light on dragons, as in none. If you are going to put dragon in the title you have to do more than talk about them and have them in one scene. The make up was pretty decent. Our elf wore cheap light blue contacts, but it looked good with her handlebar ears. The fighting choreography was noticeably bad in a few scenes. There were also too many poorly lite night time scenes. Kids should like it.Parental Guide: No f-bombs, sex, nudity. Filmed in scenic Utah.
Awesome. As good as cheap gets, in my opinion.Admittedly, the rating is overwhelmingly due to the chick protagonist because 1) she's hot, 2) she's hot in a slightly exotic way, and 3) she puts on better fight choreography than just about anybody I've seen in *any* movie, low budget or not. Casting above & beyond the rest, really. As for the rest of the movie, at least serious effort was made to make it look good... in fact, much of it was just plain beautiful. Which kind of kills the rationalizations that people are making for some of the sub-par crap being wheeled out in the new Star Wars cash cow of a steamroller, for example (apparently $200,000,000 wasn't enough to iron out the kinks on some of their rushed effects). So yeah, the story is irrelevant and plenty of it looks *beyond* dopey, but you really couldn't ask for much more from such a comparatively minor project.
I'll keep this short and sweet. A very nice surprise of a movie. I started watching expecting the usual B movie costumes, photography etc. but it far exceeded my expectations. Beautiful scenery, clear, lovely color and the makeup and costumes, while perhaps not quite up to "major Hollywood" production standards, were very good. The acting and dialog was also better than the usual B movie. The fight scenes, of which there are many, were very well choreographed. We've all seen fight scenes that just look SO fake that it's almost painful to watch. No so in this movie. OK, the 9 may be a bit high and based on the fact that the movie exceeded my expectations, but this movie is still worth a view. Enjoy.
My first review of a movie. Was surprised by how good this movie was. I have seen a few B fantasy movies and this is a one of the few good ones. I like the characters and the details of the outfits and makeup. The fight scenes are also good (for a B movie) but they do use a few tricks like fast-forwarding on a few of them. I think they use the same settings a few times but since it is a B movie it is expected. It is a movie you can watch an afternoon when you have nothing to do and it will keep you entertained if you don't want to watch something too serious.
