Load of rubbish!!

best movie i've ever seen.

The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

A little boy goes off to live with his grandparents while his parents are estranged. He sometimes becomes frightened with certain "scary" events and people, and sometimes, not.The problem with 'The Fields" is, poor writing. The person who wrote this mess needs to take script writing classes. He has "events" he experienced as a child in his head, but does not know how to get them out of his head and on to paper. And because he does not, 'The Fields' lacks a beginning and middle, and most importantly, a satisfying ending. As a result, the viewer is subjected to scenes that make no sense (except to the writer), and nothing that keeps the viewer interested or motivated to watch. Also, who cares about what you experienced as a child? Especially when you can't weave an interesting story and interesting characters into it.If you are expecting a thriller or a scary movie, this isn't it. It is, however, a good example of a poorly written script.And, it's a good movie for young teenagers who don't care what they watch.Surprised Ms. Leachman signed on to do this.Points for locations, props, and some of the shots. Points taken off for Ms. Reid's ridiculous wig. Seriously? And points taken off for overdoing AND under doing the foley and the music.

This is not a horror film! It is a very good film, but it is not at all a horror film as it is widely promoted. It is a drama-thriller film.This film reminds me of the classic 70's early 80's thriller films, but it is sometimes funny too, with the unexpected Cloris L. very rude comments and behavior. She is magnificent in her role as a ruthless outspoken dirty mouth granny.The boy shows quite a lot of talent as an actor.The film is viewed from his perspective as he sees the events unfold in front of him at his parents and grandparents place.In brief, the film it is a bit slow (but not boring at all) and worth it to watch. It has some good scary and creepy moments.Enjoy it!

When I bought UK DVD of 'The Fields' I had some expectations, not much but some(plus 3d cover is great I have to give them that!). It's being promoted as a horror movie although some websites claim It's more of a psychological trailer. Well It's not much of a thriller in my book and certainly there is no horror at all. I should know better that Cloris Leachman would not participate in a horror movie about haunted cornfield but hey I gave it a try. 'The Fields' turned out to be one of the most boring movies ever made. And I have seen a lot of boring movies where nothing happens but this flick beats it all. Acting is obviously solid with Miss Leachman as Grandma and Tara Reid as mother(but she only appears in the beginning and ending of the movie). There is no thrills, suspense, gore or anything like that. The only thing they do in the whole movie is talk. Talk, talk, talk, sometimes they shout and that's it. I also have to say that the kid playing the lead is extremely annoying. I don't see any reason to give it more than 1. It's obviously bigger budget movie with good technical aspects(although editing is crappy many times) in it but It doesn't matter when the movie is so boring, characters one dimensional and nothing, absolutely NOTHING happens during the whole movie. Watch it on your own risk if you are looking for a long nap, because the only thing this movie actually delivers is sleep.

This is not a horror movie,It's drama from the beginning to the end,I must say that I quiet enjoyed the first hour of it, my imagination was exploding with scary and crazy thoughts but i don't what happens at the end of it exactly.. when the moment comes for this piece to explode with emotion and scary people nothing of that happens No it gets boring and weird it gets like those old horror movies that nobody wants to watch anymore because it's well "BORING" IT'S it's it's just "WEIRD"! I must give the kid some compliments because he deserves it...It's just a drama, If you want to watch it anyway please do me a favor "Just watch the half of it you will enjoy it" Thank you
