Load of rubbish!!
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
First, the "movie". Wooden acting. Claymation "special effects" that are weak even by 60's standards. No plot. Non-linear story line caused a constant state of confusion. It makes "Manos: Hands of Fate" look like an Oscar winner. I got sucked in due to seeing Patrick Stewart's name attached to it, but I have to assume that he got involved either due to familial duty or blackmail. The fake reviews and ratings really irritate me the most. It is one thing to lay an egg. It is another to try to cover it up. I wish IMDb would screen for this kind of thing. Just treat it as a learning experience and move on rather than doubling down on the mess by spamming accounts to inflate the miserable scores.Over all, "Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage" is a creative and ethical nightmare. Avoid it at all costs.
This movie has some uncomfortable faults owing to its low budget nature. If you go in understanding that, then you can enjoy the good things it has to offer: super handsome Sinbad and the beautiful actresses who are distinct from the typical Hollywood look, and imaginative creatures that are apparently made from real physical models. Also, another user here commented on the quality of the costume designs--some of them are really cool. It's clear this was a work that took a lot of time and passion, but the movie is held back by some serious snags in the writing, editing, and even the acting in a couple scenes. Given more time and money, these could have been worked out. I want to see these actors doing greater things in the future.
After reading all the football weird reviews on here, my mind was mixed. So I decided to check out Sinbad myself out at theaters cause of all the hype i was reading. I was of course worried to say the least. So at the theater I was not expecting to like it, just was curious. However I was pleasantly shocked and surprised when I got into it. WOW! Keep reading. My thoughts were, Sinbad the 5th voyage is a pleasant escape from modern films, it uses a combo of new VFX and traditional animation. A real reviewer would have noticed at least that part of this concept. Meaning some of the reviews seem to be, um-mm, shall we say 'not so sincere'?? lollAnyways, overall this is a great movie for young and old alike, and great experience and would recommended to anyone. 10+IF anyone has anything to say about this being a fake review you know where my mail box is.God bless and see you at the movies! :))
I was worried to say the least, after seeing all the bad reviews for the film. So I went into the cinema not expecting a lot if anything as most other reviews are 4's and 3's. Once the film started I was getting into learning about the characters etc. After about 30 minutes the film begins properly and after this point I was on the edge of my seat for the rest of the film. Coming to the end I found it a bit predictable not expecting to be surprised by a sudden plot twist. All though the film was really OK I felt it dragged in certain bits.Buying it on DVD definitely wouldn't be a waste of time.Overall this is a great movie for 16+ and would recommended to anyone.
