Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
This movie is 10/10 omg batman! I cant believe how great this movie omg roflotfl. Its so good and entertaining. I love how it captures the real life of womens prison. My favorite part is when a girl shits herself and gets pepper sprayed. Much realism, much wow, much pro. Much win. The director clearly knew what he was doing. OH! The mother in the show was very realistic too. It makes me sad that the warden molests people. It breaks my immersion.
This is a film about a quite girl and an absolutely rage filled father that gets his dues by inappropriately touching her and raping her. She goes to kick him off and he flies into a window (or something) and ends up with an object embedded in his throat – not only is he dead, but the family's source of income and otherwise livelyhood is gone. Keep this in mind for the duration of the film, because her fate gets strategically worse. Not only does she not want to mix in with her fellow inmates in her new prison home, but she 'just wants to be left alone'. It doesn't work that way here, so instead, everyone wants to harass her. She eventually goes berserker and starts bullying them and beating them up. This leads to meeting the warden on numerous occasions, and he collects his due by having his way with her. Each time it gets progressively worse until he is ready to ship her down the road. A local talent show is her only hope at redemption of otherwise learning about the hardknocks of prison. I had to stop watching the movie here for a few reasons. The gang theme works, it is a prison – but it is repeated numerous times before it gets old, in fact it turns into high school rumble all over again. Several times this girl is sent to the head office to pay for whatever her current infraction is. Left untouched is the other people involved in the rumble – or perhaps it pivotal to the film. The sexuality in this film is played out a bit too much – the movie doesn't mind throwing around lesbian sex, leaving the main character naked on numerous occasions, and otherwise having two of the lead males exploit her. She's finally thrown into a mask and stretcher ala 'Hannibal' after she tries to kill herself; her will and sanity by this point is broken. She finally gets some redemption due to an upcoming talent show and we're shown her softer side – but consider this, wasn't this her entire character at the beginning of the film? Perhaps she was like this to begin with and it wasn't just the prison that did her in but made her worse – the other characters (all women) seem to be fairing far better than her, but I gather that was also because of years spent in penitentiary.Either way, this film is probably a must watch at least once. I don't necessarily recommend it, but it contains some of the most bitter and ironic scenes that are played out as such. I have never had a film stir me so much, and it might just stir you as well.Originally posted to Orion Age (http://www.orionphysics.com/?p=3588).
Jailbait is not a good movie but it is entertaining. It is an illogical poorly written mess but it was interesting to see Anna's decline and redemption. What this movie did right was prison life some of it was unrealistic but some of the concepts they showed in this film were spot on another bonus is the sex scenes with Sara Malakul Lane lol what more can you want. I could spend hours talking about how bad this movie was but it was a guilty pleasure with a satisfying ending. So if your're bored and have time to kill then I would suggest Jailbait which is free on hulu and Netflix plus even with it's multiple problems I'm sure you'll find some entertainment in this like I did.
While "Jailbait" tries to accomplish a lot of things with its fairly stereotypical and way too unrealistic storyline, then director Jared Cohn fails to make a lasting impact with this movie. The story in "Jailbait" is about Anna (played by Sara Malakul Lane) who is sexually molested by her step dad and accidentally kills him. Going to a juvenile rehabilitation center, Anna ends up learning how life inside the prison walls can be with all its hardships, alliances and abuse. From an entertaining point of view then "Jailbait" was actually a good enough movie to watch because it wasn't boring and it kept on a brisk pace. However, if you put on a set of realism goggles, then everything in this movie just falls to the ground fast and shatters into a million pieces. Nothing about the things happening inside the juvenile rehabilitation facility is really realistic, and things are portrayed fleetingly and just allows the audience a brief look at the surface of things. What kept the movie afloat the pace of the storyline and the fairly good acting performances put on by just about everyone in the movie. But all in all then "Jailbait" is good enough entertainment and scores a solid 5 out of 10 stars from me.
