Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
I looked at this film in the same breath. Not to say of course that draws on Oscar IMHO painful story here is simple. But wanted to note that the director's job is not so bad and nothing like setting, not too primitive. Given the idea, then the film is good, especially liked his unusual. Peculiar idea spicing notes film. I do not want to judge strictly film, the camera work is also nothing, there are many gaps, and if a severe critic would say what they were everywhere, then agree. But I'd add that in addition to shortcomings, and I saw a lot of positives. And especially liked the fact that the linearity of the plot is not interrupted by any stupidity or "tyagomyatinoy" off topic. I mean, there is an idea, the idea and the plot, and the creators in one way or another, managed to bring it in order to convey the message of the film. A more in this genre and is not necessary, you could spend a lot of money and resources, and the product could get a lot worse. The main disadvantages of the film - it is a small budget, and not a rich scenario of course is to great effect on the final result ... But in general, the film turned out good. It is a pity he was sentenced too harshly, but my opinion: the direction of such works have the potential in the future.I'm Russin and Sorry, if that ... I translated his thought through "your" Google, and he is very stupid translates from Russian into English and so sorry. But I would like to convey my words exactly, a lot of things to talk about the film ...
I enjoyed this, and as a sci-fi fan, you probably will too. It's a pretty good story of a (not too distant) future society where robots are introduced into daily life, and then things go wrong. Not original, but interesting enough. After reading some of the other reviews I just want to defend the acting in this movie, there will be no Oscar nominees here, but it's adequate. I think lead actress Zoe Naylor did a good job of depicting the somewhat heartless sideline stance of modern journalism. The critics who say she shows no emotion should notice this is only true when she is 'on camera' in her reporter role. The big stinker however is the guy who plays her producer, Edward Foy. By far the worst acting job I've come across in 2012! Some things in the movie didn't make much sense (like where does the flashlight come from in the tunnel scene?), others could have done with a little more explaining (the how and why of the sabotage by one of the robot developers) and the ending is kind of sudden. Also, the intro scene doesn't fit in the storyline, as we (at least the careful listeners) are made to believe all the robots get shut down when the screen goes black at the end. All in all, it was still a good waste of time.
This movie was almost good. The acting was on and off, as some of the actors seemed pretty good while others should not quit their day jobs. The robot effects were pretty good. They did not quite convince me they were really there but they came close. I have to give them points on the story. It wasn't bad and if given a bigger budget it could have been pretty decent.Too bad about the script though. Again, one of the things that stick out most about bad movies for me is how bad the script is. I've seen some movies with pretty good actors, but the movie sucked because the script was so bad you could tell the actor didn't even want to say the lines. So, not a bad story about robots running amok and killing everyone they come across, not bad effects (the effects company shows great promise IMO) but hit and miss acting and a poor script.I watched it once, I doubt I'll watch it a second time.
I'm actually watching this movie as I type this review. I've watched tons of bad movies, its actually something that I like to do. This movie is absolutely terrible. The best thing about this movie is... gimme a second... well the part where... nope. Okay, there are no good parts to this movie. Terrible writing, terrible directing and terrible acting. I've used IMDb for at least a decade and I've never written a review, but this movie was so awful I felt like it was my duty as a human being to keep others from wasting time. Transparent plot points, disconnected acting, and amateurish CGI and S/FX.When the first murder occurs at a friendly soccer game, the friends of the slain player (best acting in the movie), stood around not even responding to what had just occurred. Then they all kinda walked of camera as if someone motioned them off. No one stopped to check on the victim. Then the reporter was basically like... "Oh someone just got shot, oh no, we should walk over to the killer robot and investigate, yep he is dead... bye robot.. we'll stand here and watch you walk off." Then the soccer players meander back in ... like "Oh no the robots killed my friend. We are angry, rarrrrrrrr".I could go on... but I actually think this movie made me physically sick... and if that is truly the case, this physical sickness would actually be better than the movie.
