Loosely based on the popular television series of the 80's, this movie brings the story into an apocalyptic time and a new "KITT".

I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Excellent but underrated film
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
The movie had nothing to do with Knite rider i was an extra in the pilot it was a spin off of mad max people got this wrong whinier David Hasselhoff try to sue and they shut it down for money reasons or it would have been a action pack series.I WAS IN IT FOR ABOUT 1 SECOND IN KUBOKIES SWAP MART STANDING WITH ANOTHER MAN TALKING.
I watched a disc of Knight Rider 2010 which I hadn't seen since my childhood, ironically I'm writing this review in 2011, so luckily the Mad Max style apocalypse has not happened yet. Three cheers for the Action Pack TV block! In my opinion if you take it as face value as a post apocalypse car action movie its not half bad. The thing that struck at once was that even though the Knight Rider conventions are there (talking car, charismatic loner on a mission of justice) the critics are right that its just not Knight Rider. The TV movie Kight Rider 2000 and the 2010 Knight Rider remake were more legitimate than this one.I love the old western style dialog and narration. I love that the on-board computer is a sexy sounding chick who quips one liners to the hero, as opposed to a stuffy English voice. I like how the hero starts out as an outlaw with a low opinion of himself, then builds himself up. I like how in this version the hero has a young wisecracking sidekick- a Robin to the hero's Batman.Around this time Virtual Reality had become possible with 1990's computers, so it was the latest buzzword at the time. Even better was that film was able to portray Virtual worlds much better than the early computers of the time with camera tricks and funny lighting effects. To respond to the other critics who posted that wanted Hasselhoff or high tech cars in the film; obviously for a TV movie of the week they had no real budget, and so could not afford Hasselhoff or extremely expensive high tech props. Some problems I had was I did not like the silly sci fi costumes for side characters (like Kabuki, the sidekick as a Rockabilly, the Redneck with the comical large mustache) On the whole it's a nice diversion of nostalgia that suffered from exploiting the Knight Rider brand. It even has monster truck smashing scenes.
The movie to my surprise was better than I thought. It is still quite mediocre though. You have to watch the movie twice in order to really understand what's going on and still there are parts that puzzle you. I never could fully understand the video game thing and why Zeke needed McQueen to help develop his game. They should have added more scenes. The car driven by McQueen turns out to be a beat up, ugly-assed Mustang while the bad guy drives a bad-ass rocketmobile. That's one of the biggest mistakes of the movie as the car in the regular episodes of KR is the highlight of the show. I don't know what equipment they used to film this movie, but it appeared to have been leftovers from the early 80s. I couldn't believe it was filmed in '94. As many have already mentioned, it's hard to believe this movie has the title "Knight Rider" in it as there is absolutely no resemblance to the actual TV series. It's Knight Rider in name only. KR 2010 looked more like a pilot intro into an unnamed TV series than a movie. The several things I liked about KR 2010. The acting was quite decent and they had some good lines. Also I liked the gorgeous looks of Hannah and the last scene. The very last scene was the most memorable part, when McQueen discovers Hannah and together they ride off in the sunset.
I saw a comment on this movie that claims it is the one with the cameo appearance by TV's Scotty from Star Trek. This is incorrect. there were two Knight Rider Spin off movies in the 90s. Both were crappy. This one was made in 1994, knight rider 2010, without any people from the original TV show. It take place in a Mad Max style future where this guy either finds or builds a new kit. In many ways, a blatant and poor rip off of mad max... as the guy drives from place to place in this post apocalyptic future. The earlier one was knight rider 2000... from 1991... equally crappy, this one starred David Hasselhoff and yes... had a silly cameo appearance y James Doohan as himself. Avoid both.
