It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Finished watching one movie and this was on. Watched it through, but wasn't sure what it was."Was it interesting?" The world building was rather unique. There are all different races living in this kingdom, the technology goes from Renaissance to later 20th century. The geography can't pin down even what continent this place is. Kept me guessing, I guess.2 out of 3."Was it memorable?" With the exception of the 2 protagonists and the antagonist, everyone else seems unnecessary and has a good chance of dying by the end. The trope of the hero arriving too late to save the day was used a few too many times.1.5 out of 3."Was it entertaining?" The action, though unbelievable most of the time, was enjoyable. The sound effects were bizarre at times.2 out of 3.Starting with 1 (because I'm afraid of Shang Tsung), 1 + 2 + 1.5 + 2 = 6.5 I'll bump it to 7. This movie knows it's not a blockbuster, and it does it's best with what it has.
Dolph Lundgren does one of his best appearances since Rocky IV. He sparkles in the role as Warchyld, an though soldier who struggles with inner motions when the princess of his country rebels at the evil general Ruechang. The movie is quite entertaining, with an fun ethnic mix. you meet both Chinese, English, American, Spanish and Arabic people. sivil cars and buildings are from the 1930's America, they ride horses and flies helicopters, the evil soldiers have second world war Nazi uniforms and weapons are both old and new. This fictionally country seems interesting too bad the movie don't explain too much about things as name and where this country would be in the real world. Effects such as explosions and choreography are good.if you expect a Dolph movie, you are in for a treat!i could't find a bridge thou, and neither a dragon for that matter...
I saw this movie dubbed in Spanish on a peruvian bus, and that's exactly the place where you would expect to see this kind of Z-movie nonsense.Bad acting, bad editing (same guy gets killed twice, they filmed the action scenes with multiple cameras, and used all the angles on different moments, great!), exceptionally bad script and I can go on and on. The only thing I liked a bit is the combination of old and new props and settings. People arrive at the wedding in a medieval carriage pulled by horses, while others arrive in cars or tanks. Original. And the actress of course...byealain
Dolph Lundgren stars as Warchyld a killing machine who is torn between honor to his leader Ruechang (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa)and his growing love for the Princess Halo (Valarie Chow) who runs off when she finds out her father was killed by Ruechang, Warchyld tries to track her down and finds himself drawn to the rebel's cause in this surprisingly well made straight to video actioner. Bridge Of Dragons may have a silly plot but this actionpacked martial arts actioner is more entertaining then it had any right to be.
