Some things I liked some I did not.
Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

I am a huge ranbir deepika fan,so it comes as no surprise that I can watch this movie n number of times.well ayan is an excellent director and the screenplay is awesome. The story is not great since its old formula but its presented well. The director has made sure that he gives enough screen presence to all his characters but this somewhere eats into the lead pairs love story which is the crux of the movie. Nevertheless they manage to sizzle on screen with unbelievable chemistry, their eyes speak millions and in their intimate scenes they are in their own world.they display love as love is subtle and soul wrenching. How can the possibly be not in love.Ayan uses this spark to his fullest.if nit for anything yjhd seems like ayans tribute to the love they once shared
If fun is what you're looking for, and have the patience to sit through a long movie, then this one is for you. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, whose last venture was the impressive Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has all the elements required to make a good film. However, Ayan falters way too often, both with the screenplay and direction, which make YJHD just an average film. The story has shades of Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and 3 Idiots, but it does not charm you like any of those. I thought the screenplay was mediocre.Nevertheless, a decent one time watch. Deepika and Ranbir sizzle up the screen, while the rest of the cast does a good job. On the downside, a shorter film with better screenplay would have been more effective.Acting: 8.5/10 Story-Screenplay-Direction: 7.5/10 Technical Aspects: 7/10Verdict: 8/10For a detailed review, please visit sasikanth.me :)
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (stylized as YJHD) is the routine Bollywood romantic-comedy-drama, with the backdrop of travel. It has all the elements of a typical Bollywood romance that you'd probably expect from Shah Rukh Khan, another Bollywood actor known as the 'King of Romance' in India. There's romance, bromance, bonding, as well as some drama.Heck, I'd call this a slight rehash of DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge), one of the most successful Bollywood films worldwide. But DDLJ is almost 20 years ago. This is a modern update on the story, catered for the audiences of today. It has a great emotional angle to it, without the melodrama. If you see the film, you'll probably know what I mean. Also, the chemistry between the lead pair Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone is downright FIERY, and Deepika wildly excels in her subtle yet meaningful and deep performance as the introvert Naina. The dialogue is hilarious at times, and the movie has it share of well- written scenes, which almost perfectly depict every character's emotions. The music is simply grand.YJHD isn't all that ambitious, and may seem like a bit of a departure from director Ayan Mukherji's last directorial venture, Wake Up Sid. But for those of you reading this review and are not living in India, you should really start with this film, if you want to check out some of Bollywood.Great performances, simple story, fiery song-and-dance sequences, funny lines, and a romantic soul, YJHD is a fine successor to DDLJ, for the youth.
