It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
This movie shows the interconnecting episodes of different people just before the New Year in different parts of Russia, which is by the way the most important holiday in Russia. "Yolki" attracts by its kind and sometimes a bit naive plot, on eternal values like love, friendship, compassion, which works surprisingly well.We get excited, we laugh and sometimes we feel for the characters, and its great combination of comedy and drama. All actors played their parts quite well. Product placement is not overly annoying as in other Russian movies. The only minus (small) was that movie was quite short and thus episodes interconnection was done in haste. Apart from that it is great family movie.
