Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
I'll tell you why so serious
A Major Disappointment
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Maybe when Ferrell was a young guy on SNL, the clueless look was worth a few laughs. The dumb, earnest, innocent guy "accidentally" saying naughty words is funny - oh, MAYBE - once. And for Ferrell that was in 1975. Poehler relies on "soccer mom saying dirty words" humor and likewise, hasn't been funny in a long time; the same old "Amy Poehler is SO-O-O funny" schtick. This might have actually been a cute movie without the "big-time comedy" perennials doing the same parts they do over and over.
Its fun movie i couldnt stop laughing why all hating on this? Just dont listen to the negtivity and watch it, its good.
I am starting to realize what modern day slapstick looks like and it turns out I dislike it just as much as any other form of slapstick comedy. Fortunately, The House does not rely too heavily on it. At most times ridiculous, hilarious performances by Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell carried this film to its watchable rating.
The House is another comedy film starring Will Ferrell. This time around he's starring with Amy Poehler, and this film doesn't quite come to full fruition and live up to their comedy chops. It is quite generic and as bad as many of the critic reviews were saying. As some reviews stated, the film feels as an overlong Saturday Night Live sketch. It is quite short in runtime (little over 80 mins excluding end credits). Will Ferrell has starred in many better comedies as he is better than what was given here, as this feels more so of a film we would see Ed Helms star in.Overall the comedy just isn't funny and feels very forced. Really most of the jokes fall flat and are over the top with bad impressions from the characters. It is quite predictable but that isn't the worst of it. Movies based on gambling and casino's can be exciting and fun, but the House doesn't come out as such. A lot of it feels as if Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler are trying too hard for laughs, and it just isn't funny. Some decent scenes but in the end, we can't help but feel that this movie will be forgotten. One bright side was a very small cameo type role from Jeremy Renner in the end.
