This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
This ticked all of the boxes for me, because I love a good (aka bad) B grade disaster movie. This was SO bad that I've given it 9 out of 10 for sheer balls on being so utterly awful. It's so bad it's impossible to walk away, well, OK, not impossible, not even difficult, but it's worth sticking with it to embrace HOW UTTERLY DREADFUL this movie is.The acting is diabolical, the plot line is so implausible my head nearly exploded, the special effects are, well, crap, so therefore this is RIGHT UP THERE in my top 3 utterly awful, yet awesome crap disaster movies. The first time I watched it I fell asleep, but last night I watched it again and OMG, I can't believe the awesome dreadfulness I missed out on that first time. Whatever you do, watch it from start to finish, but I'd suggest that you have a lot of tequila, and a whole bunch of snacks on hand, because this is a doozy.I've watched hundreds and hundreds of awful movies in my time, but this one just had me hooked from the first moment in its sheer badness. Trust me - don't miss a moment of it. It's record-breaking.
While this Movie was being Filmed, anyone on the Shoot who had Eyes to See should have Called 911 and had Brittany Murphy Admitted to a Hospital. She is Shown here to be Suffering a Physical Ailment that Only Modern Science could Deal With. The Girl was Obviously Sick and this is Proof Captured for Eternity. The Movie is Better than 2012: Supernova (2009) by a Factor of about 2.0 on the Richter Scale but that is Saying Almost Nothing because that One is the Pits. Speaking of Pits, there are Quite a Few in this Mega Earthquake as Extinction Movie. If there aren't Enough to Cause Some Serious Damage to a City or Three or Four (its hard to keep score in this as things are seldom very clear as to what is going on, just that something is and their watching it), well then will make a Mega Pit of our own. Say about as big as the Grand Canyon. That'll Show this Upstart Quake who's boss. The Ending in this, yet another, Made for TV Movie, about the Ending of the World, just Goes On Forever with a Truck setting off Dynamite (by the MegaTons) in an Endless Chase to Outrun a Satellite, while the Aforementioned Sickly Girl keeps Reaching for the Sky at a Rope Dangling from a Helicopter. Does She Reach the Rope? Does the Truck Outrun the Satellite? You'll have to Watch to Find Out.......Or Not!
The concept did seem good on paper, but potential is ruined by terrible execution. The film is badly made, with static camera shots and some of the laziest both in how they look and how they are used effects I've seen in a film recently. The dialogue just increasingly gets inane, the story is repetitive and dull with a predictable ending and the characters throughout act like idiots. The direction furthermore is a mess and the pace is uneven and meandering. The acting despite how talented the cast are is not good at all. Brittany Murphy, she was beautiful, she was talented, sadly she has a poor character and script to work from, so at the end of the day it's all wasted talent.Overall, terrible. SyFy have done worse, but that's not really a consolation considering how poor an effort this is. 1/10 Bethany Cox
A disaster movie in every respect: a computer-generated script (and someone forgot to take his finger off the Insert Cliché Here button); lousy SFX which must have cost all of $29.99 from Crap FX R US; truly atrocious 'acting' by charisma-bypassed 'actors'; more holes in the plot than I can even begin to remember; a technological 'fix' of breath-taking stupidity; unconvincing 'characters' ~ more like cardboard cut-outs being blown about in a gale of tedium and futility; need I go on? Furthermore, I don't know who Brittany Murphy is but she has all the charm of a burst appendix. Apart from that, it was pretty good.
