Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Right away i could tell that this was not going to be another classic such as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Legend of the Black Scorpion, etc. The use of CGI does not feel right. The action is not seriously depicted and therefore is not as interesting or engaging as I had hoped. The plot, however, is fairly well conceived and the set designs and costumes are generally impressive. Overall this is OK but not worth buying for your collection. Ip Man is an all around better film and relies on wire work and seamless editing to bring it's action choreography to life. All said, this was a nice try and for fans of the genre can be no worse than some of the other movies that might vie for your attention.

Boring. You can say I didn't get it, you can say whatever you want, but this is like the 100th movie that is just exactly like the house of flying daggers, hero, and many others.Predictable, flying people, "ninjas", stereotypical love (a ripoff from Romeo and Juliette, two lovers that have to be apart because they belong to different clans) and so many things.I would really prefer to do so many other things: read a book about Japan's History, watch Blade Runner, Taxi Driver or the GodFather. These are all things that can not be considered a waste of time, they may even add something to your life, beyond culture and a few enjoyable conversations with your friends. This "movie" will not.A total waste of time.

This movie tried to be Hero but failed miserably. Prob had 1 tenth the budget of a movie like Hero and didn't do much with it I thought. Fight scenes were boring and seemed rushed and thrown together. I shut it off after i started to get upset at it. I don't think i can watch movies like this after seeing masterpieces like Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Crouching Tiger and of course Curse of the Golden Flower. If you have seen any of those movies, don't bother with this, there's no point... Actually, this movie couldn't even wipe The Banquets butt. If I melt the DVD down maybe i can make something interesting out of it and give it a better purpose.

As soon as I saw these ninjas jumping from cliff faces faster than you can actually fall and then swinging along the cliff face like spiderman I knew this was going to be a bad movie. The fight scenes were filled with CG effects which took all the realism out of the movie. The love story was not believable. I suppose the acting could have been worse, and the scenery was quite beautiful, but I couldn't bring myself to give this movie a 2/10. It is really bad. Honestly I didn't watch the last 20 mins so maybe the movie suddenly got a lot better, but i doubt it. Anyway don't expect something like "crouching tiger hidden dragon". I can't really think of a movie to compare it to...whatever, i hope i manage to stop a few people from watching it.
