The Zombie Diaries 2
October. 11,2011Three months have passed since a viral outbreak wiped out 99.9% of the world's population, turning its victims into flesh-eating living dead. In the UK, a surviving band of soldiers and civilians have taken refuge at a rural military barracks. Life in this new world is tough and brutal, but hope appears when a high level communication is received from a military base on the coast, telling of sanctuary elsewhere in Europe... But just as salvation appears to be in reach, the base suffers an overwhelming defeat at the hands of the living dead! The surviving handful of troops and civilians must now make their way to the coast to uncover the truth behind the message. Their perilous journey takes them across a now treacherous, death-ravaged landscape, where the living dead are vast in number and wandering bandits impose their own malicious sense of law and order. What follows is a journey into hell and a desperate battle against all odds for the very survival of the human race

i must have seen a different film!!
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
THE ZOMBIE DIARIES is probably the worst shot-on-video zombie movie out there, and there are plenty to choose from. So why they bothered making a sequel to that nonsense I have no idea. WORLD OF THE DEAD offers up more of the same, i.e. a semi-talented team of amateur film-makers shooting a non-existent storyline out in the countryside, replete with poor script and indifferent performances. It pains me to report that these films are British. The basic plotting involves a squad of soldiers battling to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. They have frequent encounters with zombies, who probably the least-frightening versions of the undead you'll have seen since one of those old 1930s films. It doesn't help that the actors playing the undead are singularly poor, you'd have thought it wouldn't be that difficult to play a zombie.Unfortunately, the main thrust of the storyline isn't about the walking dead, but rather a gang of vicious rapists who go around abusing and then killing women. There are a lot of protracted rape and misogynistic scenes in this film, which makes it a gruelling and unpleasant viewing experience, and about the opposite of what I'd call entertainment. It's a piece of trash, nothing more.
While this movie isn't bad, there is a lot of implausible stupidity from the characters in it. The family at the beginning - why, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse would you go out in the dark to see if you can get yourself eaten - oh and while your at it leave the ruddy back door open so zombies can wander in and devour your family? Hmmm...maybe it's just me, but I think I would keep the doors locked, turn the lights off, keep quiet and hide in the loft till morning. The reserve army base - 'oops I left the main gate open'. What?! Another big stretch of plausibility was when the army guys were on the run afterwards. One guy turns round to the zombies at his rear and starts firing an automatic weapon, despite the fact that his comrades are clearly running across his line of fire! I know they are meant to be only reservists, but come on! Later on we get more stupidity when they have the drop on Goke's bandits by the campfire. Leean is on the floor and therefore not in immediate danger of being hit by a stray bullet. The sensible tactic here would have been a quick, waist height sweep of automatic fire across the campfire to take down as many bandits as possible while they are unaware of the soldiers presence. What does our hero commander do? orders a single sniper shot which kills one bandit and alerts all the others who star shooting back! Nice training there, numpty. My biggest gripe throughout this film though, is the fact that we are meant to believe that in the middle of zombie and bandit attacks, etc, some fool stands there filming it instead of helping friends, family or comrades (or maybe just running away). Hey, I'm sorry but if someone was eating, shooting or molesting a member of my team, bottom of my list of priorities would be making a record for future posterity, or a winning entry on 'You've been framed'.Too many scenes were shot in the near complete dark, lit by only a flashlight or a night camera - this just made things confusing rather than scary. All in all, not a bad movie, but could have been a lot better with a bit more thought.
Well, the reason i picked this movie is because of zombies - i always watch anything thats somewhat associated with those things. From the trailer on youtube movie looked quite watchable + shaky cam effect (that so many people dislike) was a good plus too because this makes the movie more personal, like from the first person view or something. But yeah, thats it, movie is a complete disappointment. Zombies are poorly designed (regular people with damaged clothes and little red paint on face with ping pong ball in eye), awful and pointless storyline, as people mentioned - you don't care who dies and who doesn't. They waste ammo all the time for no reason as this movie uses the old slow-mo zombies and you can easily run away, or even slowly walk away and so on.But what disturbed me the most was the following things:1) 70% of the action is in the dark and how is everyone supposed to see if they rarely use flashlights??? if camera has that green night vision turned on it doesn't outputs any actual light, so how the heck can everyone clearly see in the dark? they freely walk in the basements, that bunker etc without flashlights, but they see... extremely annoying! 2) the green color of night vision (simulation?) was disturbing for my eyes 3) zombie rape scene. Seriously?!? :Doverall this movie is a low budget one and not worth the time
5 years after part one Michael Bartlett and Kevin Gates, the writers and also directors decided to make part 2. It picks up a bit further were part one ended. Leeann is saved and is now in the hands of the army. Naturally the zombies are still out there and things go badly wrong. But what the directors learned was the fact that they have to have a good story and so they did. This one goes a bit deeper into the characters and less into the zombie attacks. By doing so you have a better flick. But again there is a lot of shooting at the wandering zombies and here and there a zombie do bite in gory fashion. But by going deeper into the characters they added the bad guys from part one back again into the story. And it's better to catch up the story then in part one. Goke is still out there raping zombies and torturing them. It is a bit necessary to have seen part one to understand the part were the soldiers find a tortured zombie and even for the story of Leeann. Don't be fooled by the DVD sleeve, everything that you see on it isn't in the movie! But it's again a bit filmed in documentary style with the 'hated' shaky camera's. The end of the flick I liked a lot, because you are left with a bitter feeling as did the survivors. Only for the lovers of shaky camera flicks like REC and Paranormal Activity.Gore 3/5 Nudity 1/5 Effects 3/5 Story 3/5 Comedy 0/5
