Cute outfits, even cuter guys. And all kinds of friends along the way. But watch for Olympic-size detours. See for yourself why half the fun is getting there.

Absolutely Fantastic
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
The Olsen Twins - Mary Kate and Ashley are featured in this direct- to- video movie. The story revolves around a twin sisters Kylie and Taylor, who just turned sixteen years of age and go on the road with their friends and without their parents.Their destination is at Salt Lake City at Utah wherein the 2002 Winter Olympics is being held.Later, they find out that they tried to do more than they could handle and gaining independence could be indeed discomforting. Well, this is not a good movie at all.It is clichéd,contrived and predictable. The Olsen Twins could he a lot of torture for some viewers especially adults and non-fans considering that they are far from being funny. The only positive thing here is the location - Salt Lake City - where the Winter Olympics is being held and the message that gaining independence could be challenge indeed as it is about taking responsibility life rather than doing anything that you want without your parents.
I am really sorry guys, I really didn't like this movie. Like all the other Mary Kate and Ashley movies, though I do like two or three of them, Getting There suffers from being too predictable, and somehow it didn't feel like a movie. The camera-work was terrible, it was too fast and even blurry at times, the first two minutes especially. The script was clichéd and overly-simplistic, and it was also rather unfunny, apart from one or two bright spots with Toast. The story was too predictable, and has been done better many times. The pace of this film was also uneven. The earlier scenes felt rushed and the later scenes dragged so badly. The soundtrack was okay, whilst I liked the one at the beginning, some of the other song choices were poor. I didn't like the acting very much either, the boys especially were annoying, and the film felt as though the director, who didn't do his job very well says I, was just portraying a routine, every-day life scenario, which I have already said, has been done before better. The two redeeming qualities were some great-looking scenery, and the spirited performances of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Other than that, Getting There failed as a good film, and came across as predictable and contrived above all else. If you want an above average feel good film, watch Clueless instead. 2/10 Bethany Cox.
