The only reason I started watching this film was because of Chris O'Dowd, whom I'd seen before in Bridesmaids and Moon Boy, which I loved: but since I'd never heard of it, I thought it probably wouldn't be very good. This little picture definitely invites Shaun of the Dead comparisons. It's a romantic comedy set mostly in a British pub with SF/horror/fantasy elements. After being introduced to our three main characters, O'Dowd's Ray has a "meet cute" when he's on his way back from the bar with another round for himself and his mates when Anna Faris introduces herself as a time traveler. Unlike most time travel films, this one tries very hard to adhere to it's own logic. I did find one plot hole that still nags me (if Pete went back in time so far that he was on primordial Earth before the time-traveling loo had even been built yet, then how'd he get back into the same time frame as his buddies?) This doesn't ruin the film, but the briefest of explanations could have sewn up this plot hole in just a few seconds. Even non geeks can find this film fun and entertaining. If you're in a Shaun of the Dead mood, but your viewing partner is as gore- averse as my wife, this is a great alternative.

The delivery of that wasn't all that though. What always work for these British comedies are the humor part and the small games and plays they make, so if you like British sitcoms or films like Shaun of the dead this is a good one for you.It has some great fun moments, but it doesn't really stick together and the wide open ending really didn't do it for me, they could have ended it by them just strolling nice and easy down the road.I guess I would have wanted more, not that it could or should explain the conundrum that time travel, or parallel universes might have/hold or the paradoxes of it all (well it kind of gives a few obvious hints of those), but it could have been more.

First I have to say watch it! If you like time travel and sci-fi - I mean ... imagineering (lol)Dialog was good, amazing camera play and a heck of a ride. Every actor was great in their role and Anna Ferris was a cherry on top. I like her.I don't know how to compliment this movie without giving it away; like the other reviewer said, it started off a tiny bit slow(still super funny), and I too decided to give it 5 more minutes, and sweet Jesus, I would have missed out on this gem of a movie! (if I hadn't) It's smart, funny and epic all rolled into one.I would have liked it if they had a few extra dollars and more screen time. But they pulled it all off famously as is. I would have given it a 10 if they used high end effects and let us follow them around and explore a bit more in the other ... 'areas' (trying not to spoil it). However, they might have been actually trying to pull off the b-movie kind of effect, and if that's the case, then 10 stars! This is the type of comedy I'd tune in for if it was a show, and it could be at least 3 seasons before burning out. Like the twist at the end, I'm sure there is always more to do in this 'kind of situation.' Sorry, now I'm just going on. Watch this movie! Watch it. Trust the high reviews and watch it!

Don't get turned off by the title. Even though the title sounds bit nerdy, the movie isn't a documentary or anything. It is a good time travel movie with humour and thrills. Most of us would have watched many time travel movies by now and hence are pretty familiar with the general rules in time travel movies. They are cleverly embedded in this movie too :) This movie gives me a hope that even I could time travel, without a machine or anything. Very enjoyable movie..keeps you really hooked. Wonder why it isn't more popular. I started watching at midnight with plans to hit bed soon..but i got so hooked that i ended up finishing it.
