An Exercise In Nonsense
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Well this movie started portraying the general concept of the movie, a love story between a blind girl and a mere ex-badas* guy. It started slow and cool, but midway, it became interesting, such a change of events, revealing of the undisputed facts, but mostly importantly, great acting. The Story plays a great role here, it is the most essential gem, and it was great. Such good directing and acting, such an amazing execution for the movie, last but not least, such a shame that it's Turkish yet won't get the amount of attention a Hollywood movie would. 8/10
I'm feeling a bit bad about writing a negative review as my first review, but I'm at a total loss to understand the praises Sadece Sen gets here at IMDb. So I feel the need to warn people about not to waste their time on this movie if they've been expecting a decent movie about the life of a boxer in Turkey.I can only agree with @sander-noels. Yes, this movie is kitschy and predictable as he/she wrote. It also includes bad acting (90 % of the time, the main actor Ibrahim Celikkol is looking/sitting/walking around with always the same body/facial expression of a beaten puppy), unbelievable characters and not okay treatment of pets (keeping a turtle in a small fish bowl?! Come on!).I don't know the original Korean movie on which Sadece Sen is based on, so I cannot compare these two. I can only say if you're looking for a serious movie about a boxer and his new, unexpected lover, you will be disappointed and want to try something else (e.g. Alacrán enamorado/Scorpion in love: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2378079/?ref_=rvi_tt). If you're into corny Bollywood movies without the settings, colors and music, Sadece Sen might be the right flick for you, though. The one good thing to me was a look into a more modern Turkey which I've found quite interesting.
about love. or only about a meet. one of the good examples of Turkish cinema precision in the art of romanticism and dramatic changes of the story. because, at the first sigh, all is simple. a blind young woman and a boxer. the growing up of love. events who change always, everything. and the shadows of the past. nothing original. maybe few traces of soap opera recipes. but the film remains touching at all. scene by scene. for its honest simplicity. for the admirable performances of the actors. for the tension. for the great cinematography.and this does Sadece Sen one of films about yourself. because it represents one of films with deep roots in your experiences. because preserves the flavor of old stories from the East but, in same measure, the bitter taste of contemporary every day crisis. because it is a real beautiful film. and this is the most important word about it.
I was planning to watch this movie for a long time. I remember Ibrahim Celikkol (Ali) when he acted in one of Turkish soap opera. Great actor! I absolutely love this movie. Different from I've seen before. The story is awesome.. I literally cried from 50:00 to the end of the movie. I was never so stunned by a movie. i thought that there won't be happy end, i thought Ali was dead, but he wasn't. i love that it isn't a stupid American movie which you can know what's happening and that you even didn't watch it. A beautiful romantic movie, perfect for romantic movie lovers. you should definitely watch it ! i recommend it to all! top 1 on my movie list!10/10 for this beautiful movie! you'll cry like you never cried before...
