When the FBI hires her to go undercover at a college sorority, Molly Morris (Miley Cyrus) must transform herself from a tough, streetwise private investigator to a refined, sophisticated university girl to help protect the daughter of a one-time Mobster. With several suspects on her list, Molly unexpectedly discovers that not everyone is who they appear to be, including herself.

Strong and Moving!
hyped garbage
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
I honestly really enjoyed this movie. It was really funny in a few spots which made it a good movie to watch over and over again. Even though Miley Cyrus played in this movie, It was really good. I don't judge a movie by its actors like most people do. You never know when a movie this good can turn into a television hit, if this movie ever does and which I hope it will.
So, Three Word Reviewer says my summary says it all! Miley, who is so out there, and so in front of all of us, like way more than what we want (tmi, Miley) is undercover! As a sorority girl, no less! Has Miley even gone to college? Does she need to? First, we're asked to believe that Miley is a private eye--more or less, someone that snaps pix of cheating couples, all in support of poor old dad, who is a boozing, gambling shell of himself since he got kicked off the police force. He's trying to get back in somehow, by being a bottom feeder private eye. Then, we're asked to believe that the FBI has seen her stellar work as a teen photog in truck stop diners, and they desperately need her to infiltrate a sorority house to help some sorority chick whose daddy is a mob boss. They're willing to pay her big bucks, which of course she has to take because old boozing daddy just lost a bucket at the racetrack. THEN, we're asked to believe that after oh what, ten minutes, no, I'll be generous, a half day of FBI training, tough-talking, motorcycle-riding Miley is ready to be a sorority girl. This is of course, a transformation, a la Eliza Doolittle, because we all know sorority girls are all the same, and they all talk, like, so unbelievably real. And they're all bitches...and dumb...and vain. (But secretly majoring in chemistry). So yeah, the story makes no sense, and it's not supposed to.It's your fault-you chose to see this movie, knowing that Miley Cyrus is a private eye that becomes an FBI agent, posing as a sorority girl. And yeah, you'd have a right to be mad if you walked into this movie not knowing that. But odds are, you knew that walking in. And so, since you knew that...guess what?? It's not that bad! She's likable...yes, I said it. And she's a better actress than Britney or Mariah. The movie is fun. You can't be mad, because it's not a serious movie. Yes, you can be mad when you are ready for a serious movie, and there are plot holes galore. But this is not a serious movie, nor does it pretend to be. So, sit back, be entertained, and don't worry about the plot holes-worry about plot holes for a serious movie. It plays, don't think about it, watch it when you're hungover and need mindless entertainment. Because that is how it works. And the Miley in this movie is the Miley we want to know...it's not a star vehicle, she doesn't sing, and she really doesn't overact. Honestly, I can see a future for the girl if she ever wants to bust out some serious acting chops.
The story goes like this: Molly is a private investigator who is hired by FBI to protect a girl. And so she has to become a sorority member in order to be close to her and discover who is set to kill her. While reading the description of the film one can not fail to be intrigued to watch it. It sounds fun and entertaining, maybe a little thrilling. And at the beginning, it brings you the feeling that the movie not be just a comedy for teenagers, but it will present a deeper perspective of the characters and their lives. However that feeling soon is being corrected, as the rest of the movie is about sororities, girl problems and teenage love stories. Not even about spying. The performances were bad and the script didn't help them improve. And so, because of all that I am rating this movie with a 2 out of 10.
In 2000 Sandra Bullock took on the role as Gracie Hart in Miss Congeniality as an FBI agent who has to protect a former contestant from a guy who is trying to kill the hostage that Bullock was protecting. Fast forward in 2012 and Miley Cyrus who I swear is morphing into Lindsay Lohan plays Molly Sims in the not so great but still worth checking out flick SO Undercover. The movie was suppose to be SO BAD it got straight to DVD in the states when it was released.Molly Sims is an average teenager who's dad played by Glee's Mike O Malley used to be a PI but retired due to addiction to gambling. So Molly tracks down love rats and uses a camera to get the love rats who are cheating on their wives. Molly soon meets a FBI agent played by Jeremy Piven who starred in Chasing Liberty with Mandy Moore and Miss Selfridge as the title charcther and hires Molly to go undercover as a college student called Brooke Stonebridge and protect a girl who has connects with the Russian Mafia. So complete with a makeover she goes to college and later has problems of her own when she falls for a cute guy called Nicolas. So all Molly has to figure out is who is after the girl that she is protecting and why??. It could be Cotton, that girl that Molly met after Cotton, the guy Nicolas or could it be someone from outside the college?Overall it was an OK film,in fact I prefer The Last Song as I thought Cyrus was A lot better in that film than here and she doesn't really fit the whole FBI scenario, for a whining teenager YES as an FBI agent NO. The story here is like a carbon copy of Miss Congeniality and it wasn't really THAT funny. Miss Congeniality was A lot better than this teen friendly version. But still it was alright, not the best Miley Cyrus movie but still worth seeing. Also I was kinda shocked over who the culprit was all along I was like are you kidding me THAT person was over it HUH??Still if you like Miley Cyrus then check it out,if not avoid.
