There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

I like the original TV show very much, the idea of life after death is good. && if you seen it you'll know. Only thing that bother me is the TV show doesn't have a happy ending, and I love happy endings. This movie is really a good ending of the TV show. I remember a line from 'Dellamorte Dellamore',it's "you know, life goes on", I love this line, life sometimes really doesn't give you any choice, you have to live the way you are, sadly but true. So as the ending of Dead like me. Reggie is really beautiful grown up. And George(Ellen Muth),I like her acting and I heard she is a member of mensa? so she must a high IQ, really smart! Laura Harris didn't show in the movie, this kind of let me down, like her very much,Sarah Wynter(Daisy) acted a little wired...

Dead Like Me, the TV series, was wonderful, simply wonderful. Dead Like Me the movie is a project that should have been discarded long before it came to shooting, the ONLY good thing about "Life After Death" is that Ellen Muth is in it.No Rube is one thing, but Daisy, oh, Daisy, that has to be the most terrible thing about the movie, absolutely NOTHING like Daisy, neither look, nor sound, nor character AT ALL, it was like Daisy herself was abducted and replaced by somebody totally different in every way, and NOBODY noticed. But she's not the only one. The new Young Georgia not only looked totally and completely different but sounded different (almost a German accent?!) and Millie (Georgia's visible self) was replaced with somebody far too close to Ellen's looks.Reggie's relationship with the jock was, well, so just damn out of character, and far too saccharine, I just sat there thinking "WHAT!". And Georgia getting kissed by what's his face Rube's replacement (who frankly was little more than an conduit for the comic relief of killing him) to, NO reaction from her. Huh?!For the rest of the team, especially Roxy, to throw away the notion of consequence, so readily, so absolutely readily, after ALL that had gone before (in the series), ALL the lessons learned where their actions, or lack of, had consequence, and for them to simply forget all that, in an instant, made no sense at all. Again, huh?!And finally, perhaps biggest of all, for Reggie to tell Joy about how she met Georgia and she's effectively alive, show her a picture etc but for Joy, JOY, to in the space of about 30 seconds totally move on from this... HUH!Quite simply, this movie should never have been attempted, too much time had passed since the series ended, the actors and the characters had changed too much in that space we "did not see". The series is the beginning of the story, the movie is the end of it, the middle part of the story, where clearly so much has happened, has been lost. With the exception of being able to watch Ellen's wonderful Georgia Lass for a short while longer, with that sole exception, "Life After Death" should be in my opinion not be watched by a fan of the series. It can only lead to a disappointing experience. I wish I had not watched it.

Well.... when I heard there was a 'Dead Like Me' movie I was extreme excited but as I saw the below mediocre poster on IMDb, that looks like it was done by a fan and that it was subtitled ':Life After Death' I have to admit, I wasn't too stoked anymore. As I began to watch the film, I began to realize this wasn't going to be the typical 'Dead Like Me' I know and love as I couldn't even recognize what I was watching. Now I know with movies from television series, they like to change things up to put us in the movie realm but with half-ass-ed, cheap looking title fonts and comic-book sequences that have nothing to do with the movie or the show 'Dead Like Me'. Whoever thought this was a necessary, needs to die in a car accident QUICK! Further more whoever thought it was a good idea to have a 'Dead Like Me' movie with a shitty, over-acting, clearly confused replacement for the actress who originally played Daisy(Laura Harris), needs to get eaten by a shark pronto! Sarah Wynter Can't act for the life of her, or she clearly didn't care to watch season 2 of 'Dead Like Me' because she would see Daisy like many of the characters is suppose to be played with ease not theatre acting no matter if that's in the movies story. Playing the character the way Sarah Wynter wanted too was a big mistake this time. Personally I wouldn't have a 'Dead Like Me' movie if I couldn't get the original Daisy, but what the hey.Now the plot of the movie is the typical plot you'd do for any half-ass-ed sequel or straight to DVD release, but the plot isn't the problem here even if its based on not being able to bring back one of the original actors(Mandy Patinkin: Rube). Once again though, thats not the problem here, the problem is the writing and the acting. This movie could of been saved if Bryan Fuller wasn't in such a hurry to get a 'Dead Like Me' movie finished, like as if it would make a difference when it was released, having a 'Dead Like Me'movie years after its cancelled. While watching the movie you sense the stench of rushed movie, all over place as if the director and the actors just wanted to get it all over with because they knew this was just a pay check and a way to get the lazy minded fans their do. Now the movie has its moments of good touching moments but they get killed quickly with elongated dialogue that's completely toothless, it would have been properly done if it those moments were based on short meaningful sentences that get straight to the point, not chances for over done acting with fuller dialogue. This is not by any means the 'Dead Like Me' movie and send off we've all been waiting for, and for true fans I'd appreciate the original way it ended even if it didn't give us much closure, because it was cancelled before it could have a last episode, but the way ti episode made sense as it didn't cross pounds the plot of 'Dead Like Me' could never go.

The original Dead Like Me is one of my favorite TV series so I was definitely looking forward to this direct-to-video movie. Dreading the worst of course, but still looking forward to it.Well it's not bad, but it's not good either. It's great that most of the original cast are used, but those who aren't are sorely missed, including Mandy Patinkin's wry Rube, and Laura Harris's bitchy Daisy Adair. Sarah Wynter, who replaces Harris, is bitchy and slutty to excess, which makes Daisy more jaded than self-centered.The story is about George Lass resolving things with her family, as well as with a new handler who has replaced Rube and doesn't care if the reapers do their work or not. The former plot line is great, but the latter, not so much, which made for an uneven movie. Ellen Muth is still perfect as the dry George, and Cynthia Stevenson and Britt McKillip are just as convincing as her mom and sister who've coped as best they could in the years since George's death. I was glad to revisit the show, but this movie's really for hardcore fans of the series only, and would actually work better if they had cut out the new handler crap and stuck it as the last episode of the series instead.
