Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Hard to believe that two people driving around Italy and eating great food would be so irritating. There is more half-assed impersonations of Al Pacino and Robert DiNero than comment on the food, the scenery, or five star lodgings. Mute the sound, fast forward as needed, and you can knock this one off in less than ten minutes. You'll be glad you did.
One of the few movies we have ever stopped 20 minutes in to.We just wanted these two to shut up for a few seconds but they incessantly motormouth to no end.I suppose if you are British, and love to hear your accent, never ever stop speaking, you would like this movie. I had a British girlfriend once she at least actually shut up once in a while which made the accent kind of cool. These two guys make the British accent literally painful because you NEVER get a break. And the conversations they have are not in the least interesting.Comedy is my favorite genre, but this movie was more like an annoying dinner guest that just will not shut up for a minute. I was hoping that the movie, being about traveling and eating food at different places in Italy; they would have talked about the food a bit. But NO it was ALL these two ALL the time at least for the 20 minutes we suffered through this assault on the brain.I hate to write bad reviews, but this is fair warning to those who just watch movies for simple entertainment. This movie is for certain people, and I'm not sure who they are, and I probably would not want to spend an evening at dinner with them.
I just watched "The Trip to Italy". A big disappointment! I couldn't find neither comedy nor drama in it. Just terribly boring and slow action, idiotic dialogues and nonsense. Who wrote such a scenario?! Two aged guys who was just eating and talking non-stop.Are they famous in Britain?! I couldn't find anything funny. I was waiting something to happen during all this unbearable 108 minutes. The longest 108 minutes in my life! I have never seen so many people to leave the cinema theater before the movie ends. I literally fell asleep couple times during this one. I love British humor, but please! Rating of 6.7 in IMDb ?! Really? I gave to "The Trip to Italy" 1 (awful) and i think, this movie deserves it completely.
So Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon ,generally are really funny .. but the movie seems to have missing something ,, there's a leakage !! i don't know maybe the script was a bit off !!! unorganized ... or maybe it was meant to be like this "spontaneous" . the impersonating is okay even though more than half of the characters i have no idea who they were . i supposed it was to be having more comedy and some funny bits but honestly the only two times that i cracked a good laugh in the movie was when they started talking about the Kumquat :D and when Rob was talking to the body in the glass box in Pompeii ... gosh that was Hilarious :D other than that it was just like watching two guys blabbing in the streets of Italy :P i mean if they were speaking Italian i really wouldn't notice any change in the movie.
