Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
I have always liked Stephen Dorff from City of Industry to Blade. He is a little different but usually entertaining. Found this on NETFLIX on a late Saturday night thought what the hell. Well it when it started it reminded me of the "Cube" just finding yourself in a very bad situation. Then the story starts moving on and growing involving other characters and not seeing any of them. It looks like Dorff really worked very hard on this film and carried it of well, I have thought he was always talented. This is a true roller coaster movie and really keeps your interest and is shot quite well. The ending as you got closer can be guessable and then maybe not. Worth a late night weekend watch.
This film had a budget of half a million dollars yet only made slightly more than for thousand dollars at the box office-in total-if the info I saw was correct. I believe it. I've never seen a more poorly conceived thriller in my life. The main character gets trapped in a small box made from shock proof glass or some similar material and thats the film. Basically all 1:47 is spent in a tiny confined space. It would have been better if the main character had spent maybe ten minutes in a confined space and then onto other things. They could have done that. They didn't. Very disappointing and also very hard to watch for the full length of the movie. There is no explanation given for the motivations of the antagonists in the film-was it money? Was it other things? Who knows. Tom Berenger, who was well known for doing the Sniper movies, was in this film at the end-to little avail-it still sucked as a cinematic experience. There was a hundred ways they could have made it better.
After 20 minutes of movie the story was way too unbelievable and on a "no return point", it has just two possible endings... Seems that the guy wrote this thing had "the great" idea of having both endings at the same time... The whole movie can be understood If you watch the first five and the last 10 minutes. So, long story short, this movie ended being lame predictable (x 2), and plus, it passed right through the barrier of the absolute ridiculous...Don't lose your time, cheap movie.P.D watch buried, it's a hundred times better movie.
I really enjoyed this movie, it was at times intense, gripping and somewhat smart... until the end scene played out and that absolutely killed it for me. **- No Spoilers Here -** but, it really made me think what great potential this movie had and what everyone involved in the decision making was smoking when they chose to end the movie this way. So horrible in fact that I was mortified I had been violated in some way - I will not be seeking out this director (Gabe Torres)any time soon and may even make an effort to avoid him in the future. I will add this... the acting was fine. Would I recommend watching this movie ??? Sure... IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO - WHY NOT. Just keep an eye on your watch and turn it off 5 minutes before the movie is due to end.
