A horror-thriller centered on a woman living with "face-blindness" after surviving a serial killer's attack. As she lives with her condition, one in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them, the killer closes in.

Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
hyped garbage
Fresh and Exciting
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Milla Jovovich is a charismatic and talented actress who sadly, it seems, is in movies that undermine her potential to really stand out on screen. Faces In A Crowd is a junky, cheaply made horror/thriller that could have been saved if it had stayed consistent with its brilliant opening. The sleek, cold, futuristic vibe of the city Milla's character resides in has so much potential. The production design was killer (no pun intended). The camera-work - before it became sloppy as the film went on - was top notch. It was reminiscent in style of paranoid 70s thrillers (i.e. Coma, Fantastic Voyage, The Stepford Wives, All The President's Men) in terms of some tense situation happening in a creepily inorganic environment. Such an environment ratchets up the tension because the viewer cannot be comforted scenically by anything in the film around them. The film however, as it progressed, got sloppier and sloppier. The scenes involving Face Blindness are chillingly effective for the first 15 minutes, but soon get old. The film simply doesn't hold together. It is also a blatant rip-off in all departments of a 1990s thriller called Blink with Madeleine Stowe. The similarities are as bizarre as Dredd and The Raid: Redemption's similarities, although stylistically this film is more competently made. All in all, a real disappointment. It's got a clichéd ending, a poor middle, and a brilliant opening that falls flat on its face. My big question, what happened? It started out so well...
If I'd be rating the concept/idea of the movie, I would be praising it as much as I could. I was fascinated by it and what possibilities there are lying within it. Unfortunately though the movie does very little with it. And that is being modest. Also calling this predictable would be a major understatement. It will be hard to find anyone else than Millas character who doesn't know who the culprit is, almost right away. While another reviewer pointed out similarities between this and Julias Eyes, I'd suggest if you only want to watch one movie, make it Julias Eyes. Coherent and much better than this. Though I like Milla, this isn't her best work either. But with a script like that, ruining a good concept, what else do you expect. So I am being nice giving this 4 points
"Faces in the Crowd" is a watchable, partly enjoyable thriller/serial killer film, starring a nerdily cute and youthful-looking Milla Jovovich (who's one of my all-time crushes, I've got to admit it). Her character, Anna, gets attacked by a serial killer known as Tearjerk Jack. She survives, yet loses the ability to recognise faces -- so far a nice variant of the classic "amnesia" and "blind witness" themes. I actually had come in contact with people suffering from prosopagnosia, so when this topic emerged in the film, I became intrigued (I hadn't known the film was about, but had chosen it just due to its cast). It was also refreshing to see Ms Jovovich in the role of a vulnerable character. Don't get me wrong: I always enjoyed (and always will enjoy) seeing Milla kick arse.Sadly, some generic and even kitschy plot elements have found their way into the script. (SPOILERS) We've got the woman who walks home (alone and at night, mind you) and of course takes a 90% rape chance short cut at the first opportunity. We've got the lone cop who protects the sole witness by driving her to his picturesque home town. And we see said hunted witness leaving a hideout because her boyfriend sent her a text message.Furthermore, the acting is sometimes a bit on the odd side, yet not as bad as it is stated to be in some posts around here. On the upside, the main character's face blindness allows some interesting aspects and twists. The effect of the changing faces is creepy (achieved by different actors playing the same character) and can keep a viewer off balance. So if you are looking for something in the neighbourhood of "Blink" or "Los Ojos de Julia", or if you like Milla Jovovich, give this one a try.6.5/10 (7/10 including the Milla bonus)
OK, so by now your interest should have piqued having read the outlining premise of the movie; Jokovich regains consciousness after being attacked by "tear jerk jack" (!) albeit having lost the ability to read people's faces..where do I begin? Well Jokovich, bless her, does her best to invest in the film, but ultimately runs around making squeaky noises, freaking out over the slightest incident which makes her look like a neurotic housewife having just discovered a mouse. I think the majority of the time she's trying to make up for the hopeless storyline and flat stereotypical characters around her however I have had ironing sessions which are more thrilling than this film. Julian McMahon, once hot and credible, is starting to lose his hair, obviously dyes it and has a substantial middle aged paunch creeping up.. His "I appear to be a gruff, misunderstood, bombastic cop but I'm actually a good guy frustrated at my inability to catch tear jerk jack the serial killer" routine comes across as naff as he dad runs around for most of the film vowing not to let Jokovich "out of his sight" an then proceeds to let her out of his sight so the killer can take advantage of her disability and attempt to rape, murder and cry over her lifeless body. Honestly, that's his Modus operandi; he crys and his killings are linked through DNA profiling the tears found on the bodies - genius! Watch out for marianne faithful (once famous for going out with mick jagger) who has had her lips inflated so much it is hard to understand her; this only enhances (pardon the pun) the ridiculousness of his film. Now excuse me whilst my three year old niece and I, using only chunky crayons and sheets of blank paper, set about creating the next movie for mila to "produce"
