A Masterpiece!
I heard about this movie that it is ,,THE" movie about The Navy Seals and I need to say that's true. I saw a lot of movies about them, but the special thing at this movie is that all props are sponsored by the U.S Navy. That creates a very realistic feeling and you can feel it that The film crew visited a U.S Navy drill camp to get a better impression. There are some scenes you think ,,oh no that can't be" but it is inspired by real events. For fans from ,,Blackhawk down" and ,,Lone survivor" it's the perfect movie. After I watched it and it's one of my favorite movies. And you absolutely should watch it. Have Fun Tristan
This movie has good intentions, and the casting of real life Navy SEALs allows for the movie to have very accurate soldier movements and actions. However, this movie has very, very little else to offer.Casting Navy SEALs wasn't the problem. While I can forgive the bad acting, for these Navy SEALs aren't trained actors, there are many other flaws to the movie. The neglect to what makes movies good was the problem. This would be a good movie if it had better storyline, script, and characters. Most importantly, it should be more enjoyable. If you're expecting a good action movie, no... It's mediocre. The only reason the action is better is not due to the good quality (the action quality is more like that of a TV show rather than a movie), but that the real life Navy SEALs add to the realism. There is a fair amount of action, but not a ton. Then again, it is only okay, for it didn't feel that engaging or thrilling. The drama is not good either. The script is really poor, and the characters are really poor. The drama even feels somewhat redundant at times. Most importantly, the overall movie felt more like a TV show rather than an actual movie.+ Incredibly realistic solider movementsIffy, uninteresting plotPoor charactersTV show qualityBad scriptLack of enjoyment and engagement value throughout, including the action scenesScore: 5 - It's debatable whether I should've watched this or not. The idea of real life Navy Seals playing this is cool, but as a movie, it is meh (due to the flaws).
-Act of Valor is a 2012 American war film directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh, and written by Kurt Johnstad. It stars Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sánchez, Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera, and active duty U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen. The film was released by Relativity Media on February 24, 2012. The film was nominated at the 70th Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Song.--Development:-In 2007, Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh of Bandito Brothers Production filmed a video for the Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen which led the U.S. Navy to allow them to use actual active duty SEALs. After spending so much time working closely with the SEALs, McCoy and Waugh conceived the idea for a modern day action movie about this covert and elite fighting force. As Act of Valor developed with the SEALs on board as advisors, the filmmakers realized that no actors could realistically portray or physically fill the roles they had written and the actual SEALs were drafted to star in the film. The SEALs would remain anonymous, as none of their names appear in the film's credits. For the Navy, the film is an initiative to recruit SEALs. According to The Huffington Post, the Navy required the active-duty SEALs to participate. --Reception:-The film opened with generally mixed to negative reviews. Based on 130 reviews, it received a 25% approval rating from professional critics on Rotten Tomatoes with an average rating of 4.5/10 and the consensus saying, "It's undeniably reverent of the real-life heroes in its cast, but Act of Valor lets them down with a clichéd script, stilted acting, and a jingoistic attitude that ignores the complexities of war." Metacritic assigned the film an average rating of 40 out of 100, based on 34 reviews.
Of course the official Industry Critics hated this movie! They are all socialist and hate America...they would rather, as this current President has stated, see us be "More like China" What is very heartening is the Public reception with this movie beating all others out at the box office the first weekend it showed....the American People know a good American Story when they see it and this was one of the most Encouraging American Movies of all-time along with "American Sniper" and "Lone Survivor" our War movies of this decade have finally hit the same quality of patriotism as those from the 50's and 60's such as "A Bridge too Far", "The Great Escape", "The Longest Day" and "Patton" just to name a few.I believe the current and ONGOING WAR ON TERROR which is NOT OVER and has never stopped folks....will be more defining to our way of life and freedom than either of the so-called BIG WARS we're ever in danger of becoming. The movie is based on true events and uses real, active navy seals and their families to depict the actual capabilities of today's 21st century special operations warriors....completely blew me away and left a lump in my throat and great food for thought with the ending monologue and Tecumseh poem....it truly made me re-evaluate my life. Not many movies can do that these days.I think this movie should be mandatory viewing for every high-school student in America today. The children today no longer perform or recite the pledge of allegiance, they are not even allowed to pray and the history books have all been rewritten with no mention of all the lives lost and blood spilled over the last 200+ years to provide the freedom they have today...FREEDOM DOES NOT COME FREE!I give this my "10 Tons of Freedom" RatingJarrett Neil Ridlinghaferlinkedin.com/in/jnridlinghafer
