Very Cool!!!
Memorable, crazy movie
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Contracted: Drunk at a party, her drink may have been spiked, Sam has a sexual encounter. She starts to get ill, at first thinking is an STD. Then the police are seeking the man she had sex with. Sam's condition worsens. She loses hair, teeth, her irises are red, insects drop from her, she becomes violent in a Zombiesque manner..Yes we have a strange infection here.A gruesome Horror film, not for the faint-hearted or weak stomached. 6/10.
Most times when you see a horror film with excessive blood and gore, that tends to be its only strong point. But in Contracted, the f/x add to what is an intriguing story, centered on a young woman whose one night of carelessness leads to extraordinary consequences. This is a film stronger than its rating suggests. In an era of slack servings concerning horror, this one offers a heaping helping of plot, pacing, and performance. Najarra Townsend heads the no-name cast, and while she has been in numerous films, none of them was a star- turning vehicle. This one won't put her on the A-list, but her portrayal of the panicked young women is solid. The film is well-paced, will keep you locked in, and presents an ending that not only sewed things up nicely and left wiggle room for the sequel. For fans of horror, who don't mind some liberal bloodshed, I recommend this one.
I loved this film, was blown away by it, but I didn't watch the trailer, read anything about it, I prefer watching movies without anything tainting me. This movie was very scary, very gross and actually shocked me with the ending. It can haunt you a bit afterwards so watch some SouthPark after it to get rid of that! Great cast and direction. Cinematography was average, music score / sounds average, but a great story told in a raw unfiltered way, this film is great Horror entertainment. Don't watch it alone!
This movie has an interesting premise, a viral STD that turns people in zombies. It is an interesting idea, maybe this is how things in The Walking Dead got started...;). Seriously though, while the premise was good, the plot holes and bad acting really detracted from that. There were a few times where the actors shined and conveyed genuine emotions, but most of the time people's reactions in this just felt so fake. Which is where the plot holes come in. This girl is raped by a man, and doesn't tell anyone, and even when her friends find out, they don't tell the police, or even the girl's mother. And then there is the reaction to the virus. This girl stars having large amounts of blood come out of her vagina, and she starts vomiting large amounts of blood, yet she isn't alarmed enough by this to seek medical help. It isn't until she urinates large amounts of blood and has severe stomach cramps that she goes to the doctor. And when she tells the doctor about her symptoms, and shows him the rash and dead flesh on her genitals all he does is order a blood test and send her home. Ridiculous! You see rotting vaginal tissue and think the girl just has a head cold and a minor STD?!? Oh and then later on her hair starts falling out, her skin turns this sickly pale color, her finger nails start falling out, and her teeth are rotting. Oh and both her eyes and totally filled with blood. Yet NO ONE she knows is alarmed enough by these things to either make her go to the doctor, or to call the police, who are looking for people that had contact with the man that raped her, which they all know she did! So overall I'd say that this films poor acting and plot holes ruin a lot of it. I wouldn't mind seeing someone that actually knows how to write remake this, with some people that actually know how to act.
