Such a frustrating disappointment

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

The storyline has been done so many times it is beyond predictable. Jason Patrick had no edge or mystery the way a character like this should have. Bruce Willis phoned in his performance and John Cusack must have lost a bet to get stuck with this POS of a script. The action scenes reminded me of 1990's arcade shooting games with crappy AI that pops up bad guys up one at a time. The acting was SO bad I started writing this review during the final scene so I could at least be be doing something productive with my time. This movie is so bad it is not even one of those its so bad its good movies. Its just bad.

The Prince (2014)Ha! A joke. The main character is played by a Bruce Willis wannabe, Jason Patric, and he's decent, barely…but Willis isn't just decent, he's compelling. Still, this movie could have been decent. Barely. But the writing (and direction, overall) are horrid. I mean so unbelievable and amateurish you have to laugh.This is a tough guy movie—Patric plays a guy who is just a nice (handsome) old car mechanic with a cute daughter away in the big city, but he has a past as a super fighter, great with guns and wits. But the writer has him enter a bar and say absurd tough guy things, and then the people around the bar say absurd things back, either tough stuff, too, or just whiny mean stuff. It makes no sense.Of course, you do wish he could save his daughter. And guess what, he does! And kills a lot of people along the way, generally bullet proof in the process. Oh, and his daughter's teenage girlfriend has the hots for him. Etc.Wait, I'm not done! The movie shows Bruce Willis himself as a character! Yup, and he's pretty good, working with a lousy script. John Cusak shows up, too, and is almost pretty good, also with a lousy script. Don't be fooled. This is Patric's movie, and he is at a loss in the mess.

Of course, this film is a pure piece of crap. Only an idiot would define it as a masterpiece. But I have always watched a B movie as a B movie, and a grade Z film as a grade Z film. See? For this kind of features, I always put the scale very very low, so that I can't have any deception. Many of people don't proceed this way. They go to see a film without this kind of caution. They can watch such a crap with he same eyes or expectation they would have for a Marty Scorcese or Quentin Tarantino movie. I admit that this film is totally expendable, it deserves the garbage can. BUT I like this film. I like the corny acting, especially from the ever young - as Matt Dillon - Jason Patric, I like the now lousy actor Bruce Willis - since more than fifteen years now, in waiting for his ultimate and swan song DIE HARD 6. I also love the scheme where this evil guy Willis wants to get revenge of his family death, killed by error by the true hero of this film - Patric. I find it surprising and agreeable. That's my own opinion. But this doesn't remove the low quality of this forgettable movie. And I will finish by insisting on the fact that I highly prefer a grade B action flick like ROADHOUSE, for instance, than this crap. I tried to be the fairest possible.

This movie doesn't worth you attention. Im pretty sure that if this movie would have came out in the late 90's it would have been a blast - it has pretty actress , it has badass hero , shooting and noble cause , the problem is that we are not in the 90's and this movie is a big fat pile of cliché . Not only that its bad , than its almost identical to the movie Taken with Liam Neeson . I do hope that one day Bruce Willis will say that this movie was made as a joke and some kind of parody to Action movies but i think this day will be come not so soon. Speaking of Willis , i don't get it why 2/3 of his latest movie are so shitty please get yourself together you are a brilliant actor. I really like watching these low rated movies myself because sometimes IMDb is wrong , but this is not the case. Ther movie is so bad that it should be locked in some kind of a Pandora box or something.
