Better than most people think
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
I love Zombies done well & they did them very well. I think some of the low ratings came from people who didn't understand what they were watching. Just remember to think Novice Video Gamer as you watch. This is the first movie (think game levels) & the main character is a novice (gamer) so he makes mistakes & he loses his weapons too often... I don't play that way but a novice gamer might. This movie is meant to be fun - like a video game! And it is!!! BONUS: Rob Riggle is HILARIOUS!
The opening scene gave the impression that this was going to be a satire like 'Shaun of the Dead' or an outright comedy like 'Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.' The 2/10 I rate the movie is for this opening scene. After that, it's downhill all the way.Zombie comedies work because the idea of a zombie apocalypse is so utterly absurd. Non-comedy zombie offerings like 'The Walking Dead' work because the drama and human tragedy is sufficient for us to suspend disbelief in the outrageous premise. To make a zombie movie, or book, or TV show work, film-makers have to slap us in the face with comedy, or punch us in the kidneys with drama; there can be no half-measures.Unfortunately, Watchtower is a half-measure and, beyond that first scene, has nothing to recommend it, unless you're a serious glutton for zombie schlock.
OK, if you're a fan of the video games, this is a must. As a stand alone movie, it's pretty terrible, but in a funny way.Jesse Metcalfe plays pseudo-reporter Chase, stuck behind the lines during a government evacuation in East Mission, Oregon, during a zombie apocalypse. Desperately trying to make a name for himself, he goes around trying to "Break the Story," while avoiding being eaten alive by zombies, or murdered to death by marauding villains.Okay, so the premise of the film isn't anything special. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER ZOMBIE FILM. The only thing that makes it stand out as a title is it's relationship to the video games. The surprising aspect of the film is it's subtle humor. It actually has some hilarious jokes, outside of the main story line. The actors really tried to throw themselves into their roles, but actually they clash with the hilarity of what's going on around them. Rob Riggle even makes a guest appearance as 1st survivor Frank West. It doesn't matter that he doesn't look or sound like him, but hey, he's pretty funny. From the ridiculous weapons, predictable plot twists, and some absolutely hilarious zombie moments (the baby bjorn was the best!), it's worth a watch.5/10
It is just a movie to me.. you don't feel the scare & excitement. The effects were not that real. The actors were not serious they just act especially the TV presenter & that writer setting next to her also the sequence of the situations are expected and boring unlike other movies. Also they just want to get rid of the actors in a very old fashion way (for example the mother and her daughter she didn't care about losing her daughter in the beginning of the movie but then she showed later that she wants her so bad. Also that man one who killed by nife. Also the reporter who took pictures of the Asian family without showing some tears and when they killed she cried) !?!?
