It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

Wow if you live long enough you see everything. When I first saw this attempt to refurbish and refit the beaten down LOST BOYS franchise (DTV no less) I was intrigued that someone had taken the time and energy to give new life to a franchise that was not merely dying a slow death but has also left Corey with the Hollywood equivalent of bad breath.Seriously this is a nice flick. As a TOP REVIEWER on IMDb (still not sure what that means, I think it means I like working for nothing) all the elements are here -- nice tight script, good casting, good direction, good SFX, some eye candy -- what more do you want? And I really liked the idea (props to whoever came up with it) of having Corey "growl" his dialog for the entire movie -- takes guts but it works! And to continue my opening sentence, I just finished Expendables 3 (another dead franchise raised from the dead) and wow if this is the beginning of a trend, some good movietimes are ahead.

I'm a huge fan of the original Lost Boys. While this is better than the second one, it plays like it was written by an amateur. There were some very memorable moments. I love the part when the vampires jumped out of the plane. Looked great. THIS should have been the beginning of the movie. There were a few good actors, but most of the cast was terrible. When you have a few bad actors, it's very difficult to get engrossed in the story. The girl side-kick from the comic book store really stuck out and not in a good way. The story pulled directly from the original. The twist at the end was almost exactly the same. The flash backs to the original movie made NO sense. It felt like a few things were thrown in "just because". For example, the boob shot at the rave, novelist walking around in lingerie at the beginning, soooooo many shots of vampires bearing their teeth at the camera and the gums of the vampires were so fake. It was hard to concentrate on the story with the bad props.Love the old music. Liked to see it incorporated. In general, a huge let down again. Overall, a lot of things were overdone and this made the story difficult to focus on. My bet is that this is the last of the Lost Boys series. These last two movies have stained the awesomeness of the original movie.

If you have seen the original Lost Boys you know it wasn't the greatest movie of all times, but it has enough spirit to make it a classic people loved and compared to. When I first heard Lost Boys would be turned into a franchise, I refused to watch the movie (The Tribe) because I was sure it would suck. Not so, though, since I have seen it recently and I believe it retained some of the spunk and the tongue in cheek approach of the original. Now, it is time for the third part, something that I was certain had no chance of being fun. I am glad to say I was wrong again. Lost Boys: The Thirst is not the greatest movie of all times, either, but it is certainly fun, especially for the people that liked the other movies in the group.Yeah, about the ending... I thought it was more like a joke, something that people can laugh about. I doubt anyone really took it seriously, especially since most of the film itself was mostly humorous than thrilling.People clearly enjoyed playing in the movie. Some of the dialog was really amusing like the vampire noticing Frog is awful with the sword. The return of Alan Frog was also nice, especially since Jamison Newlander played as Alan Frog for the second movie as well, but the scenes got deleted from the finished product. Frankly, this film would have been a great opportunity for Kiefer Sutherland to play a cameo. Oh, well.Bottom line: If you have seen the original Lost Boys and liked it, you will enjoy this one, too. If you haven't, go watch it, what are you waiting for? Then watch this one :)
