This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

Well I first heard of slender man the urban legend about 8 years ago and I was hooked with the diligence of research and mythos. I think this movie could and should have come out years ago. The movie was mediocre and could have been creepier. Channel Zero also from creepy pasta is an anthology series and has done a great job at creating fear. This movie dropped the ball I expected a lot sacrier.

Before I unleash my true hate for this movie, I will mention what works in it, giving credit where credit is due. The movie was in focus, for around 30 seconds the dialogue wasn't bad and there were around 2 seconds of scary imagery. Now with a few points, I will mention the things that make it one of the worst horror movies of the 21st century. 1. The story makes no sense. Scenes just sort of happen and end. This is probably due to the fact that the studio had to cut out a major piece of this movie. This movie isn't The Magnificent Ambersons, a bit of gore wouldn't save it, though I hope the original cut was more cohesive. 2. No rules. 'It Follows' is a great horror movie, which establishes the rules of our antagonist throughout the movie. Here slender-man does all sorts of things, so you can only sit and observe sloppily put together scenes of things happening. 3. Jump scares. While they didn't startle me, when I looked around, people were constantly jumping due to the loud sound effects. It would be alright if these jump scares were earned, but putting a loud noise because a character walks by is the laziest garbage. 4. Boring. It's not bad enough to be 'so bad it's funny'. I only laughed 2 times and chuckled 4. Not enough laughs to spend money, gas and time for the sake of laughing at the weird decisions of the filmmaker. I genuinely hope that movies that don't rely on cliches and cheap tricks like Hereditary will pop up every once in a while even if audiences won't give them millions of dollars.

The acting was poor, the plot was poor, even the damn lighting was poor, I couldn't even see what was happening! This was the worst movie I'd ever watched and found it to be the most confusing, stupid plot ever! Slenderman was and still is well known and if this movie had done the job well and right, it would have been a bloody blockbuster. But it was terrible and disappointing :( Plus Joey king can't act for absolute crap....Don't waste your money or time with this one! I learnt the hard way <3

I saw this movie for free and I still wanted my money back, it's like they aren't taking horror movies seriously anymore.
