Good story, Not enough for a whole film

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

October is a not movie for the masses. It is a cinema at its finest. It is real, very relatable and yet poetic. Great performances by Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu, Gitanjali Rao; simple and powerful story; wonderful direction backed by beautiful sound track. October is not a merely movie, its a beautiful journey into human emotions and love, one that you wish doesn't end soon. Loved everything about this movie. This movie will linger on in my mind for a long time. Take a bow, Shoojit Sircar for directing this masterpiece. We need more movies like this in Indian cinema.

Cinema is an integral part of society where we revel upon our form of the art of story telling. Sometimes they speak of stories that make you laugh, cry , feel loved, experience thrill , fear and what not. But with all those plethora of stories there are some which leaves an indelible mark afterwards. "October" is such a story. This movie is not easy to describe in words , but to sum up all I can say is it's a love-story without a love-story. This movie tells the story of human emotions, attachment to a certain idea of being attached, how a simplest thought of acquaintance can bring two people together in the most delicate way and in the toughest of times. The actor Varun Dhawan although a starkid, this movie is the most defining moment of his career. This one definitely removes the usual stigma of star-kid tag from him and marks him as a talented actor. He can deliver given the right story. Shoojit Sircar has again done with with his unconventional direction style and also the cinematography is beautiful. I can't help but mention a particular scene in the movie , the prelude to the climax was the most emotional and a perfect mise en scène for the climax, it will tear you apart from within and will still haunt you even long after the movie.

A beautiful movie packed with emotions , and exceptional acting of Varun Dhawan.

Its a beautiful portrayal of two people's lives. I could have easily got bored with the basic story the movie, but the performances, direction, cinematography just creates magic on the screen and makes one feel the essence of the film.Varun Dhawan gives a performance of his career by far, the best I have seen by him yet. Banita is also very natural in portraying her character. October has a really good music score which sets you in the mood. I Really liked the Cinematography too.Shoojit Sircar gives another beautiful piece of cinema to movie lovers that has never been seen in a long time.
