Good movie but grossly overrated
Excellent, Without a doubt!!
The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Reality documentary crew records a young couple during their second pregnancy, after the first miscarried, but complications set in ...OK, it's mockumentary (of a documentary) plus FF - so some will dismiss it anyway. It is well made and a good story that sticks to the rules of the genre. Well acted too, and it avoids the crew-ego that spoils so many films like this. The problem I had is they decided to use camera/mic interference to convey the presence of the threat, and never made it literal. There was knocking at the door, but that was about it. So you end up with something that's really a tale of a decline into mental illness, and in my view that means it's not horror. You have to see a manifestation on screen, and glitches in the picture and audio shrieking are not enough.Otherwise the sound did create an effect, especially with the constant dog barking and the confused voices in the last scene (which came close to being ruined by the camera effects). But in the end it is a shocker.Overall, well worth watching but should have been spookier. Better than Paranormal Entity, but not a patch on the PA series at its best.
I had been waiting for a while to watch this and I was not disappointed. I actually got more than I expected.I loved the way they showed the first episode of the 'reality TV show' that was being filmed as the first part of the movie. That was very original and created a great mood. The acting was great and I thought the build up was perfect. I didn't think that there was anything unusual about the actions of the characters (its very hard to make a pregnant women do what she doesn't want to do).I also appreciated that they didn't try to scare with loud noises and in-your-face scares. It was subtle, creepy and much more realistic. The story has been done before but in my opinion this is one of the better versions. All in all I would place this at the above average level as far as 'found footage' movies go, and I've watched a lot of FF. 8/10.
Truly a remarkable thriller that gets your attention. It keeps you engaged from beginning to the end. The acting, writing and directing are solid and draws you in. Just when you think you are watching another reality show the plot twists into a demonic thriller. But is It really? demonic thriller? The films ending produces a cathartic response. And questions arise. Is It demonic or is it mental illness? Or a combination of both? Unexpected end for sure. This pseudo-documentary stylized film exceeds expectations and rises above the rest of its GENRE. So now you have to watch it and live the experience on your own.
Not really a "Found Footage" movie fan however this one got me hooked till the end . Scary parts may not be that scary at all but you get this uneasiness feeling that gets you focused during the film . Cast was OK and acting well done .Story is presented like a documentary and from start to finish does not disappoint. It's worth watching if you're a ''Found Footage'' fan and if you're not then you'll still get along with it pretty well .Thumb ups !
